The masquerades numbering about 4 where flogging people along the road. They charge at you and if you don't give them money you receive a piece of their cane on your body.

A lady that happens to be a military officer was flogged and they were not apologetic. The lady called for back up and when her colleagues arrived with the truck, the masquerades took to their heels. However, one of them was caught.

What is even more pathetic is the comments praising the soldier for flogging the masquerade. Tomorrow this same soldier will flog you ike an animal for a very minor infraction, Nigerians are just some really terrible set of human beings.

I always try to look at issues from a different perspective and put them in context than most people. Where others see issues of comic relief, I see a military personnel abusive and inhumane treatment of a citizen albeit a masquerade. What did the "masquerade" do to warrant such public humiliation and assault? Regardless of your belief, a human being is still behind all that costume, who feels pain and bleeds like you and I. The ferocity with which the soldier was flogging him and the lack of care shown makes you wonder if he thought he was beating something else other than a human. These soldiers have abused and humiliated citizens of all ages and sexes with little or no provocation and yet none of them had been held to account. It's about time that the lawmakers rise up to their responsibility and enact laws to stop all these civilians' abuses at the hands of the military.
