Looks LOVELY...
SIZEABLE in a WALLET...
WALLETS were considered when the CURRENCY was designed and not the Regular NAIRA that looks like the size of a GIANT BRA....

Looting from where? Why do you Nigerians especially the northerners love poverty? That's why your almajiri syndrome persists. So anybody that has money loots?

These notes should be protected and preserve for posterity sake but since the fed control the museums, you think she will give this notes to an aboki man (they head most government agencies and parastatals now) to secure

The reason ondo states indigene will not allow the agbabu (bitumen) and olokola to be handled by the fed govt

Why can't state government manage museums and national heritage site?

Why always the fed government

If some things have been moved from the exclusive list to the concurrent list, Nigeria would have been better
nothing stops eastern states from doing it

A lady excitedly took to Facebook to share photos of the Biafran currencies she found in her father's cupboard.

Sophia Francesca disclosed that the currencies she found left her imagining how rich she would have been if it was Nigerian currencies. She however got suggestions of getting good deals on ebay for it.

God bless Sophia Francesca
Edumare bless her
Oduduwa bless her.

AWOLOWO IS VINDICATED!

BABA CAN REST IN PEACE FROM IBO NOISE ABOUT 20Pounds.

Francesca's father and many like him converted Nigerian pounds to Biafran currency and hoarded Biafran pounds as a prospect to get rich after war.

Before end of war Nigerian pounds had been changed. Unfortunately for those stil holding to Biafran pounds it was worth nothing at exchange market...it had no value, however much was in hand.

Awolowo out of kindness gave a 20pound reprieve to each person for equitable recovery. 20pounds then was a lot of money.

Thank Jesus for Sophia Francesca. We have solved the puzzle!

Cowardly abi?

"...In 1967 an Ibo General in the Nigerian Army declared that the Ibo region was now an independent country, "Biafra." The Nigerian Army, a big, sleazy outfit, begged to differ and invaded the Ibo region in SE Nigeria. The Army had 250,000 men. The Biafra/Ibo army had maybe a tenth that many, but they were brave and smart -- the Ibo had always been the brains of Nigeria..." Gary Brecher

Heromaniaa:
The currency spent in the defunct Republic of Biafra during the Nigerian civil war (1967-70), Biafran Pound, has surreptitiously crept into the currency market, serving as the legal tender in some communities along the West African coast.

Investigations carried out by Sunday Punch showed that the money is being spent in the border town between Togo and Republic of Benin, while some currency hawkers also exchange it for the naira and other currencies in the border town between Ghana and Togo.

One Biafran pound still bears the signature of Dr. Syvelster Ugo, the then Governor of the Central Bank of the defunct Biafran Republic and the picture of a palm tree. What is, however, baffling about the currency is that it has more value than the Nigerian naira and it is openly accepted as a legal tender in the affected communities.

When Sunday Punch visited the Ghana and Togo border town, known as Aflo, some of the money vendors were eager to sell the currency. They, however, insisted on selling one Biafran pound at N800. The scenario at the Togo/Benin Republic border, known as Helakondi, was different as the vendors willingly sold one pound for between N200 and N270 to our correspondent. Some food vendors in Togo were telling passersby that they were willing to accept Biafran pounds.

In Ghana, the vendors were discreet about the trade. One of them, who identified himself simply as Tony, told our correspondent that the money was not accepted as a legal tender in Ghana, but that Ghana was a transit route for the currency.

He said: \"We get the money from some Igbo people in Nigeria. They bring it here for us and we cherish it so much.
you no try with this funny episode.

Then leave them alone to self destruct. Why force yourself unto a tribe to create a false nation? Hate is like cancer and will definitely eat you up.

Check out the quality of that currency! We can only imagine what could have been. But one thing is sure; and that is the fact that the Biafran people represents class. And if am asked if Biafra would have been like UAE today, I will answer in the affirmative.

Which fair war...liar. See

"...The USSR sold the Nigerians every plane, tank and gun they could cram into their shopping cart, and the British loaned their pilots to fly as Nigerian AF mercs, bombing Biafran civvies and blowing up convoys bringing food and meds to the Ibo villages. Instead of facing the Ibo army man to man, the Nigerian troops grabbed the coastline around the Niger River delta, the supply route the Ibo needed. They stopped all food shipments heading for Ibo territory and sat back to let the Ibo starve........"Gary Brecher
it doesn't matter how a wat was fought.

What matters is the Victor

Just finished Chinua's There was a Country. The Biafran dream turned out to be a real nightmare. After reading, I concluded Nnamdi Kanu is really a bad student of history. That story is not one to repeat itself, at least not in the same way. I wish I could also read a first hand Nigerian perspective on the war. Maybe Chinua was a Biafran Apologist
