In his pre-political past, President Donald Trump had such close ties with the Clintons that it’s unbelievable how things have fallen apart.

A look at old photos shows that Trump and the Clintons used to hang out in the same New York social circles.

In those days, Trump was seen primarily as a New York businessman. He concentrated his business and social affairs in the Big Apple state.

So much in love with New York was Trump that if he visited other US states, he would rather return to Trump Tower, New York in his helicopter that same night. To him then, New York and its circles, not the US, was home.

Not anymore, it appears. Trump has ditched New York. He has embraced the conservative, rural heartland of the United States – Middle America.

With that divorce has come a divorce with the Clintons, the most celebrated New York Democratic dynasty of recent years.

Who can forget the ‘crooked Hillary’ taunts of the 2016 race? Trump took the attacks of him by Clinton very personal.

This was until he won. Then the Donald did what Winston Churchill has always advised victors to do. He was magnanimous toward the Clintons in victory.

In his victory speech after beating Hillary Clinton, Trump was all shades of magnanimous. He said some wonderful things about Hillary Clinton and her husband.

But soon after massive liberal protests against his electoral victory started, he began firing shots at Hillary Clinton again.

Each time the liberal wing would attack Trump, he would hit out at the Clintons. When New York shut down his eponymous foundation, he asked “What about the Clinton Foundation?”

When Trump was accused of colluding with the Russians -remember?- he asked “What about the Clinton links to Ukrainian interests?”

With the suicide of Jeffrey Epstein, as soon as the liberal media turned attention to Trump’s ties to Epstein, Trump published a conspiracy theory that the Clintons had something to do with it.

It is as if Trump has resolved to make the Clintons the whipping boys of the Democratic Party.

Thus, Obama has largely escaped Trump’s ire. This is even as Trump once accused the former president of wiretapping his home, Trump Tower. We have not heard Trump call Obama a trespasser in recent times.

The danger in this is that Trump mis-focuses his 2020 campaign strategy. The Obama camp, led by Joe Biden, is in the front-line of the race for the Democratic nomination in 2020. The Clinton camp is not.Source
