The PS5 is coming – but what do we know so far?


The next PlayStation console is on its way, and it’s set to a bigger, better and more powerful gaming machine than any PlayStation before it. Whether it ends up being called the PS5, PlayStation 5, or otherwise is anyone’s guess – but now we know for sure that the console is coming.

We heard from Mark Cerny, the chief architect on Sony’s next-generation console, that Sony was working on the successor to the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro, with a few choice details about what we could expect from its hardware.

The PS5 will still play discs, for one – but as to the exact hardware specifications, and how it will link up with Sony and Microsoft’s plans for game streaming, we’re still largely in the dark.

Sony made the tactical decision to skip out on E3 2019 this year, and while Microsoft is busy showing off more of the Xbox Scarlett – which we know is landing at the end of 2020 – Sony has been a bit more quiet about its upcoming gaming console.

PC gaming is the way forward. Since the PS4 every other console promises to become the end-all-be-all only to end up disappointing expecting fans. Is it not two years ago the PS4 Pro came out? Why don’t they give the console at least a four year shelf life before moving forward?

P4 pro is not a new gen console, it's p4 with a bit more juice

Guys, have you heard about the rpcs5 emulator? PS5 would be an amazing console, I am pretty sure but as a man who is more into PC I don't really want to buy one and emulation seems to be a good option in my case. Of course if the performance is good enough. So I really want to try it out as soon as I'll get the chance.
