funny poster does not recognise the irony of her question.

If the economy is improving people do not have to believe it, they will simply feel it and they will know by default.

because the government officials are buzy stealing money and you are here telling me to believe that nigeria is improving economically.
because the youths are engaged in kidnapping and the police in taking bribe.
even the mortala muhamed internation airport officials are very buzy doing their normal corrupt trade openly before all this international organisations that gives good record to nigeria.
our embassys abroad are busy making illegal money with new electronic passport appointment, and all the world are seeing this.
our award is only in corroption and nothing else.

It's because it is a bogus statement.

Let's say in a family of eight adults, one who works wt an oil giant got promoted and probably sent overseas as big Oga. D one who is a farmer cldnt increase his acreage because he couldn't access fund for inputs and extra farm land though his produce sold at better prices ds season. D banker lost his job suddenly. D engineer's employer closed shop. D other into corporate services can't get new accounts n his old accounts r inactive ds year due to harsh economic reasons. D welded can't do much because no electricity. D student schooling in a SE university is at home due to strike and he spends time wt his senior school colleagues who can't get jobs at computer village selling Chinese phones and memory cards to survive. And someone says ur family is doin well. Will u b blamed if u say d person is ignorant?

Because we are natural sceptics when it comes to good things being said about our Country. We are our own worst enemy - we fail to realise that even improved and great economies of the world do have their ghettos, shanties, etc.
All my years, it's been the same thing - we see nothing good about Nigeria - sad though this is. Actually, we've had improvements over the years and there are infrastructures to prove it - but it is in us not to acknowledge the same.
We complain about power; we forget our consumption has leapt and our population not the same as the days of yore. There is poverty, yes. AND SADLY, THERE ALWAYS WILL BE - IN EVERY COUNTRY. Corruption? O yes - we are the worst(?). We glory in demonizing ourselves - only problem is, those of us who talk, do our own evil in our private lives, but Govt is the culprit. I've read some of your posts/comments and was not surprised about the various attacks - I expected that.
As a young man, years ago, we had our problems in the country then - but we didn't vilify our country then the way we do it now. Respect and courtesy to one another (even if strangers) have been thrown out of the window. Curses and abuses is the norm. Yet we don't see that as wrong but gleefully curse our Nation.
Sigh, Despite all these, quite a great many of us still love this country, messes and all

Because over 70% of Nigerians live below $1 a day according to World Bank (the same people that says our economy is improving), over 10 million Nigerian children are out of school, more than 90% of the Textile industries have closed down, because Nigerian Industries are operating below 30% Industrial utilization level, poverty level is as high 80% of Nigerias population, Nigerias Non Oil exports continue to decrease year in year out, Nigerian Government can not provide 24 hours power supply to the people, this is not after spending over $16 billion dollars on Power projects that were never finished, Nigerian Government can not protect its citizens from boko haram and kidnappers and YET CORRUPTION IS AT ITS HIGHEST LEVEL THAT PEOPLE LIKE THE EVIL GENIUS CAN THINK OF HAVING A REPLAY AT ASO ROCK EVEN AFTER EMBEZZLING OVER $12.5 BILLION US DOLLARS (NOT LIBERIAN DOLLARS OR ZIMBABWEAN DOLLARS).
Nigeria we hail theeeeeeeee
