If you live in certain area in Lagos that look very BEAUTIFUL when when it rains heavily with attendant flooding, you will appreciate the extent of responsibilities on Engr. Joe Igbokwe's shoulders and how much you should pray for him to succeed.

It is a sensitive job. It is tough task to undertake. He should get ready to be resisted, blackmailed and tribally abused by residents, who will be affected by the solutions he will offer. However, If he could succeed, he will write his name in gold in Lagos State history.

This guy was made a special adviser in a subset of the ministry of works and environment. I think his job is important considering the high rate of flooding in Lagos State. Part of the job description of this man would be to sensitize Lagosians on why they should not clog their drainages with gabbage and effluents to enhance efficient discharge of excess water whenever it rains. He may also be tasked ensuring that blocked drainages are cleared. Stagnant drainages not only promote breeding of female anopheles mosquitos which spread malaria, they also pollute our air and drinking water especially for those who sank boreholes in their homes. Airborne diseases require carriers, and polluted air due to smelly gutters are efficient in this.

Joe Igbokwe may have unwittingly accepted one of the hardest jobs in Lagos, as next time there is a flood, he would be thoroughly lynched, digitally. Let us support him to succeed.

You seem not to know. Special Advisers, Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries are of co-ordinate rank in State cabinets.

To those piggies insulting and denigrating his portfolio, i am sure they would be more than happy if their father was extended sure duty in a city like Lagos. If Joe was giving a high placed post in the government these animals will claim that no Yoruba man is capable of handling such position as they the most intelligent in the world, and they control the economy and life, the highest population in Lagos, but since it is a post of a special adviser they are insulting Joe of being a slave. It sucks to be a flatori.

Still, Yoruba leaders should stop this habit of assigning duties to non indigenes especially these flatoris.
