AREGBESOLA VS THE INTERIOR MINISTRY : A CASE OF SHATTERED EXPECTATION BY OGE CHIKERO

Aregbesola's statement on Interior Ministry is alarming. How can a man who has been the Chief Executive Officer of a state for 8 years say he doesn't know what the Ministry of Interior is about except what he has read in the Newspapers?

So he is trying to tell us that while he was the Governor of Osun State for 8 years, he never met the Minister of Interior during any of the Federal Executive Council meetings? He never had one thing or the other to do with the office or any arm under the Ministry of Interior?

Does Aregbesola want us to believe that he doesn't know that the Ministry of Interior is in charge of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Internal Security, Nigerian Correctional Service.

He can't tell me that he doesn't know that the Ministry formulates and implements policies related to border management and supervises the National Immigration Service and other functions that include:

Granting of Nigerian citizenship
Consular and immigration services
Granting of business permits and expatriate quotas
Co-ordination of national and independence day celebrations
Reformation and re-integration of inmates
Security of lives and properties
Management of National emergencies;
Recruitment of officers and men of the Correctional Service, Immigration Service, Fire Service and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps
Managing the retirement benefits of retirees of paramilitary Services under its supervision.

If Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola is saying the truth then this is bad for President Buhari who has obviously appointed only those he knows as he earlier promised and not those who can do the job into his cabinet .

This is the reason why it is stupid to appoint Ministers into offices they know nothing about, its another way of wasting time because the Minister is going to start learning on the job and Nigeria doesn't have time to waste. Another case is giving Eng. Saleh Mamman the Ministry of Power when the man has made great impact in Agriculture. Why not give him the Ministry of Agriculture?
His speech after the appointment during a reception in his honor is just a twin to that of Aregbesola. Eng. Mamman said :

"What I need from Nigerians at this time is prayers. I have just been appointed Minister of Power, so I have nothing much to talk about or say than for Nigerians to pray for me to succeed," he said.


Anybody you put in Power Ministry must have idea on PPP, Investments, Trade Unions, Tarrifs etc. The man must  have vast knowledge in the energy ecosystem !

Aregbesola is just the only Minister who is honest that's if he being truthful because it's the same case with many if not all the first time Ministers.

Al what you stated were quoted and sourced online too he was governor and never had access to such.it is better to learn on the job my friend. Dont play politics of bitterness
