*The yam beetle. (a poem)*

The yam beetle is an insect that loves the yam.
If you see it move, know that it heads to the farm.
I wonder why it never goes to the barn.
But we know that it cause the yam some harm.
So if you sight the beetle do raise an alarm.
Some beetle fool you by wearing the coat of arms.
They have made the farmers to live by alms.
For the beetle integrity is 'Haram'
But soon Dem go hear am
As the farmers begin to shout 'catch am'
Because they ate our national cake and ran.
And have decided on our dear yam.
That is why I will not be calm.
Local or foreign, let no beetle mess with my yam.
I'm a son of the soil called Sam.
