Just imagine the rapid response to that incident even before the passengers began disembarking from the aircraft.

It took almost 35 minutes for emergency response team to arrive the Air peace aircraft that overran the run way in Port Harcourt international airport about a month or so ago.

Probably there was no fuel to start their vehicles or the batteries were dead or still, someone whose responsibilities was to keep those vehicles working had siphoned the funds meant for the fuel or batteries.

nobody said anything about the cornfield been a. farm close to the airport..which I think was intentional.. but here, we have houses built just by the airport fence.. If the airport had residential houses close by or on it's pathways.. it would have been a disaster. now I know why Nigerian govt doesn't take life so important...
An airport should have undeveloped land in more hundreds of miles away so that it can safeguard this kinda occurrence... MMIA is a case study..

Planes whose engines shut down can be glided safely to land cos they also can act like gliders. Also, the Auxillary Power Unit (APU) or Ram Air Turbine (RAT) ought to be deployed so as to power items such as the landing gear, pumps and minor electrical stuffs on board the plane.

The plane will not float mid air, but I can't tell the technology behind it, that's why I said that pilot is very experience.
Taking a look at when the plane took off and the distance it has covered b4 the engine shutting down the the time it came down.
I can't imagine the force it took off & at some few distance in coming down with no major damage on the plane when hitting the ground. That a lot of experience. Abeg !!!

Bros, aircrafts don't drop like that from the sky except they stall. An aircraft can lose all engine power and still glide. A classic example is the 'Miracle of the Hudson', where an aircraft in US took off, and got hit by birds damaging all engines, the plane glided safely in the sky but because the nearest airport was too far, the pilot decided to ditch the aircraft into the Hudson River.
