Monday August 19, witnessed the celebration of world photography day, a day when Ikemsinachukwu Jordan James, Nigeria’s youngest photographer, decided to showcase his first solo photo exhibition to mark his seven years of photography. In this exhibition, he showcased 100 photos out of over 5000 collections of his works that he had taken between the ages of 8-14 years.

The event, which was held at CRIMMD Lagos, was filled with people from all walks of life as they came to encourage the young photographer. These include friends and family from across the world such as world wrapper man, Amb. Adjhrho David Obaro, Green Queen, Adesola Aduke Arit Alamutu, Lady Doris Akintewe of You Tube Channel, Toni Ikecheku from Abuja, Jagunmolu Oluwadare Lasisi from Scotland amongst others.

The young star on the rise was born into a family of writers and creative artistes. At a young age of 4, he was able to handle a camera, though he became a professional at the age of 8 with encouragement from his parents. At age 13, Ikemsinachukwu was the youngest member of the 400 participants at the Rotary International District 9110, Nigeria, Rotary Youth Leadership Program, where he backed a RYLA 2018 Award for his talent as a photographer. He also attended the one month 2018 Basic Leadership and Character Development Course of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Center of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, held at their Sea Side Training Center in Apapa, Lagos.

Speaking to the upcoming star, Ikem spoke on what inspired him to pick up the camera for the first time.
