The "lungs of the planet" are burning.
Many have observed with utter shock and helplessly watched on as devastating fires ravage the Amazon rainforest. Scientists have restlessly warned that the worldwide health problems that would result from a burnt out Amazon rainforest would be unprecedented.
As thousands of colossal fiery infernos rage across the Amazon rainforest, tropical vegetation, trees, and the fauna, and even the houses in the area are being razed. Since August 15, more than 9,500 new forest fires have started across Brazil, primarily in the Amazon basin.

On Monday, the collective smoke plume from the fires darkened the sky more than 2,000 miles away. Some of these fires were started by farmers and loggers who seek to use Amazonian for industrial or agricultural purposes. But once blazes start, hot temperatures and dry conditions due to climate change enable the flames to spread farther and faster.

The Amazon basin is the largest rainforest in the world, and a vital carbon store that slows down global warming.
In total, it contains 40 percent of the world’s tropical forests.
The rainforest also accounts for between 10 and 15 percent of the biodiversity of Earth’s continents.
The Amazon fires are particularly alarming as scientists have said that trees are the planet’s first line of defense against global warming.

Trees are considered essential to climate stability and a study indicated planting a trillion trees could remove two-thirds of all the emissions caused by humans. Due to deforestation, scientists estimate that we are near the tipping point where the Amazon can no longer function as a carbon sink. They also warn the forest is in growing danger of degrading into a Savannah. That means its capacity to absorb carbon is already being severely diminished and could result in consequences for the rest of the planet.

Brazil and the rest of the World have seem to be spell-bound not knowing exactly how to extinguish the catastrophic infano of this magnitude. Yesterday, Israel has taken the lead as the very first Nation to take decisive steps to quell the raging flame that is on the verge of plunging humanity into worse atmospheric disaster. Israel moved in yesterday with massive sophisticated fire quenching equipment and have started combating the fiery infano. Brazilians and all well-meaning people in the World have expressed profound gratitude for this. They also expressed hope that the rest of the World would do more than just talking but come to the timely aid of the Amazon rainforest, and also do the needful to make the World a better place.

This is tragic. This is not a Brazil problem, this is a world problem. It affects everything and anything that require oxygen to survive and this amozon forest it largely responsible for mopping up toxic elements. Thumbs up Israel!!!

Also, it always baffle me why all humans can't join hands to unitedly make their short lives here of better experience instead of foolishly focusing on enslaving one another. Some act like they are immortal, when surely they too will die and leave behind whatever they've killed others for. Only the most foolish of humans kill other humans. It's utterly needless, but I guess there is a power that blinds them with ego.
