The award is not based on life time. It is based on what they did on the pitch last season.
Ronaldo played fewer games, scored lesser goals, at country level he was missing during the UEFE Nations League only to appear when he sensed there was a chance of the team clinching it. He only played d semi, n d final.
Van Dijk played almost, if not all.. Bernado Silva and Raheem Sterlin deserve to be there based on last season..
