Why do Nigerians spend every 4 years blaming elected government officials when the Constitution gives room for looting?

In a land where elected leaders are free to steal resources because the laws protect those who are elected, who do you blame when leaders steal? Is it not sensible to amend the laws and remove the special protection given to leaders?

If Nigerians were to create the Constitution we would have

1. Brutal punishment for elected officials. Nigerians don't joke with thieves.

2. No elected officials would have anything like security vote that they can spend without accounting for.

3. No huge salaries for senators. Every allowance will be slashed. You're elected to serve, not to enrich yourself.

4. Limit the powers of the president and the executives. How can someone in Abuja be telling someone in crossriver not to mine gold?

In a summary, the people of Nigeria will decide how they want Nigeria to be. The present day Nigeria was never the wish of Nigerians because

The 1999 constitution was written by abacha and his supreme military council for the purpose of easing a way for the transition of abacha to become life president.

The 1999 constitution is an embodiment of injustice.

The 1999 constitution was designed to intimidate the masses. It serves and protects only the elected officials and the ruling class.

The problem of Nigeria is the Constitution. Not APC, not PDP, not the politicians.

The solution is not Igbo presidency, fulani presidency or yoruba presidency.

If you love Nigeria, you must destroy this fraudulent document you call the Constitution.

Shalom!

The people to stiffle the law are the looters hence , it's impossible to stop corruptions in Nigeria as the institution is not right.

Our national assembly will not enact laws that will punish looters , it will be a self inflicting pain .

Only the the citizens can make things work out in this nation if only we can stop being cowards to have the Nigeria of our dream ...

Gather yourselves, reject politicians, elect the common man in your street into the national assembly.

This is a major problem. We only elect politicians.

How about we elect that man that is known for his honesty in your local government?

We gather round, elect such people into the national assembly to amend the laws. Simple!

If they fail to amend the laws, we recall them and send another person. Another problem with Nigerians is that they don't closely monitor the activities of their senators and reps in the national assembly. Most of us don't even know our senators.

We must take our focus off the executive and fix our attention on the national assembly. That is the only way we can change Nigeria.

That is the only way we can disarm a president.

Right now, the national assembly has become a property of the ruling class. We must take back the national assembly.

This is the revolution we need.

You are correct and we are on the same page, we play ignorance to our representatives in Abuja on what they do and etc and it's giving them free hands to serve only their pockets.
