Some protesters stormed an outlet of Shoprite on Lekki-Epe expressway in Lagos state on Tuesday afternoon, chanting violent songs.

The development comes less than 24 hours after reports of attacks on foreign nationals, including Nigerians, in South Africa, went viral.

The protesters, who attempted to break into mall of South Africa-owned Shoprite were resisted by policemen on ground.

I pity Africa I am telling u. Nigerians in South Africa are being killed by fellow Africans. Are we still the giant of Africa?

I refuse to condemn this with mere words. I will boycott DSTV and if that does not yield any result I will take a more drastic measure. Of course you all have to join me in doing this to make it felt.

I don't think shoprite is completely owned by southies. Nigerians should be guided. Mtn, stanbic, multichoice are fully active businesses owned by South Africans in Nigeria.

If we start attacking south African owned businesses that have 95% of their staff as Nigerians, we would be hurting ourselves more, imagine boom no more shoprite, MTN etc the number of jobless people that will hit the street.
Next thing they all looking for visa to leave the country

Protesting is one thing.
Breaking into a mall and stealing is another thing.
The government should act fast and make sure South Africa do something about this xenophobia issue urgently.
Things are about to get outta hands.

While this might not be the best and smartest of move as Nigerian businesses & livelihoods will be adversely affected, I can totally understand the frustration amongst many, over their brothers killed in South Africa.

You can't tell an angry man, how to react. They make sh1t load of money & now they have closed their doors, it will definitely impact revenue (no matter how insignificant) as long as things remain this way.

It seems Nigeria is more in order. Except there is government backing, all the nonsense going on in SA can't happen here. It's just impossible.

Reason should prevail. You don't become a criminal because others decide to be criminals.
