Akeredolu Will Not Abandon Projects, Says Works Commissioner Ogunleye


Ondo State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye has assured people of the state that the government would not abandon any of its road and infrastructural projects midway.

Ogunleye gave this assurance while playing host to leaders of Adegolarin, Falowo and Ooye communities in Akure.

The Commissioner said all the projects, which the government has embarked upon are going to be completed and commissioned in due time for the people to use.

According to him, the Governor, Arakunrin Akeredolu did not belong to the school of thought that taking the people for a ride through deceit was a way to govern.

“We are taking up projects in phases so that when we would not be overwhelmed. And as soon as one is completed, we commence another. The Governor has demonstrated in clear terms that he is a man, who makes his words his bond”

He reiterated government’s determination to carry the road infrastructure program to the doorstep of everyone, stressing that the government intended to improve the infrastructure of Akure so as to raise the level to that which befits the administrative headquarters of State.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engineer Taiwo Otun said officials of the Ministry had visited the area, adding that its been listed for consideration.

Earlier, spokesperson of the people, Mr. Smart Ayodele had commended the government over it’s road infrastructure programme, saying it’s laudable.

Mr. Ayodele, who regretted that past governments had failed to fulfil their promises to construct the road linking Danjuma-Aratunsin-Ooye-Gaga, solicited government assistance in constructing the road.
