Let me get this straight, so in a supposed civilized country like SA, people just attack anyone who they perceive as a criminal? Is Mbeki saying they don’t have detectives, criminal investigators, drug law enforcement agents? Who will attack the South African drug dealers and criminals? Mbeki don fall hand for this talk! 2 Likes |

Its a good thing this issue is coming to light. It now means SA police are going to be brutal with serious repercussion on convicted criminals. Drug dealers and kidnappers, human traffickers should be advised to relocate and find other country for their market so innocent and honest Nigerians in SA can live peacefully and not targeted unecessarily. 1 Like |

Coming from a former president.... I give up. Xenophobia in south Africa is a premeditated thing. And the government with their position and body language has confirmed their support for it. 1 Like |

Thabo Mbeki is a fool. It’s more painful when one remembers that Nigeria offered him asylum during the apartheid period. 2 Likes |

Nigeria government must make them understand that this excuse they struggle to give is not acceptable. See BBC Graph of xenophobia history in South Africa. We expect they will want to give excuse to justify their action but this is historic and has been going on even before the arrival of Nigeria. Thabo Mbeki must be called to order. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-47800718 Graph shows Threats, attacks and killings against foreigners in South Africa

It suggests violent attacks peaked in 2008 and again in 2015. In 2008, there was a wave of attacks across the country against refugees and migrants - more than 60 people were reported to have been killed and thousands displaced. Xenophobic attacks spark South African response In 2015, there were outbreaks of violence against non-South Africans, mostly in the cities of Durban and Johannesburg, which led to the deployment of the army to deter further unrest. In March, the government launched an initiative to raise public awareness and improve access to services for victims of discrimination. Human rights groups welcomed it, but said that the government needed to publicly recognise attacks on foreigners as xenophobic. In a statement published in October 2018, South Africa's main opposition party, the Democratic Alliance, blamed the governing ANC party for a "scourge of xenophobic violence". Minister of Human Settlements, Water & Sanitation, Lindiwe Sisulu, has urged the police to act against people targeting foreigners Where are the migrants from? About 70% of foreigners in South Africa come from neighbouring Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Lesotho. The remaining 30% is made up of people from Malawi, UK, Namibia, eSwatini, previously known as Swaziland, India and other countries. There are an estimated 3.6 million migrants in the country, a spokesperson for South Africa's national statistics body told the BBC, out of an overall population of well over 50 million. |

This is to show you that deep inside south African citizens, they don't like other African foreigners especially nigerian. This talk and that of their ministers and with the look of those police when violence was going on show deeply that this country will never repent. Their citizens have full support of their leaders and are not hiding it. What is the percentage of drug dealers compare to what they did to other genuine business men? What's the functions of their security agencies? Am sure if dangote conglomerate has warehouse full of house hold commodities in Johannesburg, it would be the first place to target and yet they will justify it by their actions. They can't hide their hatred in them. From leaders, to followers. So pathetic. It's high time our leaders fix this country to be able to conduce for genuine Nigerian to thrive in their businesses. Then they will really know that this country don't give a Bleep to any shitty country like theirs. Fg should not renew all the south African business license. Let them go back to their country and enjoy their businesses. This will still repeat itself sooner than expected because they enjoy doing it. What a nonsense. |

This is fake news at its best....I condemn the attacks on foreigners in SA but what gets to me is this thing that Nigerians never condemn the behavior of their citizens in foreign countries and always blame the natives as if Nigerians citizens are saints wherever they migrate to. |
