Fayemi's wife must be regretting and hoping she don't organise meeting that sad day. she and her husband was abused for playing isolated politics in the first regime now they're liberal another yawa

It's so Sad and unfortunate that the police would act in such a guerilla and uncivilized manner. Students or protesters are meant to be dispersed by teargas and not live amunitions, the whole incident is regrettable.
We are grateful to Ekiti state Government for taking actions to forestall a reoccurrence of this act, panels have been set up, and directives have been given that no student should be harrassed or intimidated by the police. Those arrested students will be released.

It's important to state here that the state Government has started moves at offsetting the bills of those in hostipa, Condolence visits by high powered delegation are already meeting the family of the Dead.

While we all regret this sad event, condemned the actions of the men of the police force and the reactions from the Students, it's important we advise the fifth columnists who highjacked the protest by shooting at law enforcement agents to desist from such act as Ekiti state will not tolerate Lawlessness and thurgery from any Quarter. To those who have lost the love and trust of Ekiti people but want to force themselves on the people by inciting violence and sponsoring trouble, it's important to know that a new sheriff is in town and the hand of the law will hit Hard on them.
We wish eternal rest for the dead and a quick recovery for the wounded.

how can police be shooting at students as if they are aiming at armed terrorist?
Re: Update On Fuoye Saga: By Nans Zone D (south West) by Adeeko007(m): 1:25pm On Sep 13, 2019
The event has nothing to do with Fayemi or Erelu Bisi Fayemi as none of her security details were involved in such act. Even when here Entourage were attacked, she insisted her security details leave and she was immediately evacuated from Oye.

The mentioning or attachment of the state Government to this sad event is just an attempt by those who lost out in the last election to seek some relevance after losing the the trust of the people

To be honest with ourselves, let's be reasonable in all we do, as no reasonable person, not even a public figure like the wife of the gov of a state will order the shooting of the students. We all know how unprofessional our security men and women operate most times in the country. They take law into their hand and over flog matters that needed to be handled with simplicity. The earlier those who politicize every issues desist, the better for our state and Nigeria as a country. May God forgive and accept the souls of those young students who lost their lives, and may the Lord console their families as well. Amen.

Update on FUOYE SAGA: by NANS ZONE D (SOUTH WEST)

Tell No Lies And Claim No Easy Victory ! ~ Amical Cabral.

Following the protest staged by the Federal University of Oye Ekiti Students on September 10th, 2019 to drive home their displeasure about the total black out of their academic environment and the eventual sad loss of two of our students and injury to many as a result of the protest, the NANS ZONE D was on ground yesterday Thursday September 12th, 2019 for the on spot assessment and held an all inclusive meeting with the concern students and Stakeholders in Ekiti State.

Amongst the participants of the said meeting in order of priority are The Students Union President of Federal University of Oye Ekiti “FUOYE” and the CHAIRMAN NANS EKITI JCC Executives i.e Secretary, P.R.O, Vice Chairman, Director Action and Mobilization and others). With the following persons in no particular order ; The Students Union President of COE Ikere Ekiti, Students Union President Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, The Vice President National Association of University Students, The National President of Federation of Ekiti State Students, The NANS National Vice President, Comrade Ojo immunity, Comrade Famuyibo Captain former NANS Deputy Senate President, Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti former Students Union President and hosts of stakeholders and students.

In between our cerebral juxtaposing, we rose to leave for Usi Ekiti where we went to pay our last respect to one of the deceased, the late Comrade KEHINDE of FUOYE {May his soul Rest In Peace }, We pay a condolences visit to the family in their house and we went to the Federal Medical Center, Ido OSI, Ekiti from there we returned to Fajuyi Park to continue our meeting.

After all said and done, arguments here and there, but most importantly, on the account of the FUOYE Union President who gave us an on ground information of what went down and how it happened on the day of the incident as he had earlier narrated to Punch Newspaper as published yesterday 12th of September, 2019 and contributions from virtually everybody present at the said meeting, the Ekiti Students agreed thus:,

1. We condemn in the strongest possible term the gruesome killings of the two students who lost their lives in the saga from the hands of reckless police men, and pray to God to give the family of the departed the fortitude to bear the loss.

2. The Nigerian Police Force should release one of our students, who was arrested yesterday evening on this course and stop any further act of intimidations.

3. We demand for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the police officers involved in the killings in the interest of justice.

4. We implore the IGP to reform and reorient his men on the rules of engagement with students and the society at large in a democratic environment.

5. We demand that Ekiti State Government should take up all expenses of those injured and as well as compensate the family of the deceased.

6. We call on the State government to set up a judicial panel of enquiry to investigate the needless killings and barbaric show of force by the police and recommend appropriate sanctions as well as means of preventing future occurrence.

7. We demand for immediate restoration of electricity and provision of transformers not only to FUOYE but back to all the tertiary institutions in Ekiti State, “which was the primary cause of the entire unfortunate incidence”.

8. The proscription of the students union was done too hastily and was needless as well , we call on the FUOYE university management to immediately rescind this proscription order of the students union as this will be the first step in ensuring that peace returns to the university

9. All seized property of both the union and students should be released.

We hope to get quick and favourable response on these demands within the next 5 working days, we shall not hesitate to move down the secretariat of the zone to Ekiti and roll out our arsenal of agitation if these demands are not met.

The above was collectively agreed upon by all & we are to address the Press today 13th September, 2019 as such.

To the Naysayers who for Political reasons outside the scope of genuine Students interest have different thoughts; to those who wants to use this crisis and the death of our colleagues to score political points which include those insisting that the wife of Ekiti state governor ordered the killings of our colleagues contrary to all genuine reports on the ground and more specifically to those who may wants to rescind on our spirit of collectivity and camaraderie, WE WISH THEM WHAT BEFELL THOSE TWO STUDENTS WHOSE LIVE WAS LOST IN THE FUOYE SAGA.

On a final note, There’s one too many killings and bloodshed associated with this saga already, the tension is high and the people aggrieved, hence our resolve to the above approach to avoid further deaths of either the Students, passersby or security operatives or even more destruction of property.
Hence, our approach to provide this kind of Leadership at this delicate time!

The entire Students body in South West send our condolences to the family of the deceased, the FUOYE community and Ekiti NANS JCC leadership over this avoidable death.

May we never record this kind of death again. Mayan!!!

Signed:
Comrade ADEKITAN LUKMAN TUNICE (SANS)
NANS ZONE D CORDINATOR
All these demands and Agitations can only be achieved in a Civilized Country I mean a country that is strictly abide to the rule of law. A country that does not kick dirt into the eyes of the weak.. A country where justice always prevail..
I repeat and Say it Again nothing of these Demands shall be fulfilled.. Abii No be this Naija we dey soooooo?

This matter no hard. Police are not supposed to fire a gun during student protest. Hence, d police that shot them should be arrested and charged with murder. If it was indeed the governor wife that ordered him to shoot, he will confess so as to save his skin but if not, let him be charged with murder. This issue will only be dragged if the governor's wife is indeed guilty. This has nothing to do with politics

The governor's wife is not a member of the Nigerian Police and she has no legal authority to give orders to men of the police force. Therefore, even if she was knuckle headed enough to give such orders, the police officer was and is very much in the position to reject such orders on the spot.

Once the officers who shot the students are identified beyond reasonable doubt, they should face the law squarely. This is the only legal extent we can go to.

However, if there is enough evidence or support for the belief that the governor's wife did promote the killings, a moral campaign could be instituted against her in the hope to bring her and likely her husband's administration down to set a strong example to other bigwigs. But this is purely political and could be mishandled.

I kept wondering why no one was talking about bringing the trigger happy policeman to book. Everybody knows how our police can be, first lady present or not.

Now they ve turned it to politics.

Justice should be served. The stupid police that killed those students should be shot dead or given sniper to drink.

How can the children be the leaders of tomorrow when you don't provide power to smoothen their studies, you expect them to read without light and at the end of their sufferings you still gun them down. Failed nation.

that's the truth!!

But on your proscribed punishment for the officer who shot the students,i have a feeling the police is only acting on instructions.you'd be surprised the yeye first-lady was the one who ordered the shooting.the police is only following the orders of his oga,i think madam bisi fayemi herself should be held responsible for the death of those students..

The police acted rashly by slapping the sug president but the 'power-drunk' first lady was the murderer.as far as I'm concerned, ekiti state now has a murderer as first lady.

Actually, she does. In Nigeria, d wife have legal authoruty to give dem order. Im a son of a top military officer and d staffs attached to my pman said dat every of the children and wife order is same thing with my dad order and dey are to follow it to the later. So if she order her officers to shoot, den its on her. Police and military job is just to follpw orders

That personnel of Nigeria's military/paramilitary system choose to do things in odd manners does not in anyway legitimize their modus.

Under the British laws that we adopted in Nigeria, and as practiced in all other modern and thriving nations worldwide, "madam" of the OIC cannot order troops under her husband to shoot anyone. Well trained soldiers / law enforcement agents who are raised with dignity will downright refuse such orders on general principles.

Let me paint a picture for you.

Imagine that Ivanka Trump order members of the FBI or national guard to shoot down a set of Democratic Party youth campaigners in Washington DC for displaying placards taunting her and her dad...your guess is that these well trained guys will fire away?

Please tell your dad his boys lack dignity and are badly trained.
