Umahi also appointed the brother of the state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Nwebonyi Godwin and the former Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Francis Agwu as his Executive Assistants, a position which the Governor created newly to further enhance smooth running of his administration and empowerment of the citizens in the state.

In a statement signed by the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Chief Clement Nweke, the Governor also appointed other 179 persons as Executive Assistants, Senior Technical Assistants and Technical Assistants.

The new appointees are to report to the office of the Principal Secretary to the Governor with their Credentials from 16th September, 2019, for their documentation.

That's Madness without a stitch on! It's like there's a Daemon in all Nigerians that's only visible for all eyes to see at the point of assuming public office. What would a sane public servant be doing with over 180 Assistants. What's then left for him to put his imprimatur on as the Main Man?

Why not appoint the whole of Ebonyi's people as STAs ?

This is just a waste of already scarce resources. Nigerian politicians and their Maradona's way of sharing wealth amongst themselves..

He is paving the way for his anointed candidate that will succeed him.
All those appointed by him are just the persons that will ensure that process goes smoothly. As part of their duties is to interface with relevant stakeholders for that.
If I'm not mistaken I believe the governor will leave an unbeaten legacy in his state that will surpass his predecessors and probably whoever will succeed him.

I studied Revenue report as release by NBS recently. I really hope the new Governors will study this documents carefully it will determine their success rate.. Below are some of my analysis and issues observed

1. The reason most state can't pay salaries is not because of unavailability of funds.. On average a state gets like 3Billion monthly from FAAC. The problems lies in these two evils " Interest Repayments" and over bloated Overheads" .

2. If federal government should stop FAAC for 3 months most state will cripple they don't generate enough to stand on their own and this over dependence on Central is very dangerous .. FG needs to starts a program to wean the states from money from center just like how a Mum will wean a child from breast.

3. Lagos states need a deep Audit of their revenues from 1999 till date.. That states should be performing 50% more than what they are doing with their earnings only of they can open the budget process so we know where the gulp of their incomes goes.

4. Am really proud of Kano and PH even with their high earning power their External debt is below $100 million dollars compare to a poor state with very low earnings like Osun with $99 millions..

5.The total debt of all the states ( External) $4 Billion plus with Lagos taking about 1.4 Billion . There is a need for a National debt restructuring program so these figures can be reviewed so it won't eat deep into states finances

In conclusion Unnecessary aids appointment will only increase state government overheard.. They should adopt more lean approached to reduce cost of governance and free funds to more productive projects.

He appointed 180 aides, including three (3) Umahis, his OWN BIOLOGICAL/BLOOD BROTHERS! He even had to mention their names.

Hypocrisy meant that some people are avoiding this thread/topic. If it was an APC Governor who committed this shameful nepotism and crass stupidity of waste of resources, comments would have reached page 20!

At a time most states are facing a fiscal crisis, this Governor just appointed 180 aides in one swoop!

And he will still appoint Commissiomers, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants! Those might be, say, 60. Senseless!

Most politicians (and their blind supporters) are damn wicked!

Where did you get 30 billion?Stop spreading fake news, no state gets up to 30 billion Naira a month from FAAC
Lagos that generates revenue of 31 States Combined should do more? What happens to other States, they should be sleeping?
What happens to a State like Ebonyi appointing over 180 aides, but with other South East States Combined could not generate Internally Generated Revenue of Ogun State?

Congrats to the appointed.
Congrats abi?
I've said it before and will repeat it again that most of you coming here to pretend to comment against Buhari and his appointment s are first class hypocrites.

He appointed 180 people as aides but you didn't criticize him, see anything wrong or call it compensation but if it happened to be an APC governor or Buhari that you people love to hate you would be spewing the here or vomiting.

Need I remind you that 3 of his brothers are among these people.

Nigeria will grow slowly with this kind of selective criticism from you people.
I wonder how you people sleep at night.
Claim to fight injustice but support it from your people...Shame.

As for APC minions who will frown at this but always justify their people I pity you all for your selective criticisms too.

SMH.
