Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has flagged off distribution of free books for primary and secondary schools in the state, Igbere TV reports. Igbere TV learned that the decision comes as schools in Oyo state, on Monday, Sept. 16, resumed for the new 2019/2020 academic session. It was further gathered that yesterday's distribution kicked off at Bishop Phillips Academy, Iwo road, in Ibadan. Governor wey value education! He should however make sure almost all the students are given these books and not just been stuck up in the stores at the ministry of education, which is a common practice in Nigeria. They will just abandon the books in ministry to get spoilt by water from the leaking roof, rodents after the many of the books have been taken home by staff of the ministry. |
