The Southwest Youth Congress (SYC), Ondo State chapter has insisted no amount of lies can stop Vice President Yemi Osinbajo from becoming president in 2023.

This was made known during a pro-Osinbajo procession in Akure on Thursday.

It comes as the vice president fights back over allegations of financial mismanagement.

There have been reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was probing the vice president over the management of the National Social Investment Programme (N-SIP).

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Timi Frank, also accused Osinbajo of collecting N90billion from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to fund the 2019 general elections in favour of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Leading Ondo SYC members in protest, Bamise Akintomide alleged that “desperate cabals” are responsible for the “campaign of calumny” against Osinbajo to stop the presidency from moving to the southwest.

“It is our considered opinion that such a campaign of calumny against a decent character like the Vice-President will not hold water in the eyes of right-thinking Nigerians.

“We do know that the orchestrated allegations against Professor Osinbajo, especially the baseless accusation of misusing a non-existent N90 billion campaign fund, are all targeted at achieving the singular objective of dissuading the vice president from considering the idea of running for the presidency in 2023,” Mr Akintomide said.

Osinbajo, who on Wednesday threatened to sue those spreading false allegations against him, has not suggested he is interested in running as president in 2013.

According to Akintomide, “While Mr Vice President has not told anyone that he will be running for office in 2023, the Southwest Youth Congress will like to emphasise that the leadership shown by Professor Osinbajo over the period he has worked alongside President Muhammadu Buhari to pilot the affairs of this country have proven his capacity for effective and result-driven governance, and it is our hope and desire that come 2023 he is on the ballot to run for the highest office in the land.

“If he decides to contest, it’s our belief that he is immensely qualified and therefore he has our support and deserves the support of all well-meaning Nigerians.

“While it’s true that there is no amount of gimmicks or lies that can stop Professor Osinbajo from becoming Nigeria’s president if God so wills.”

Why not pity Peter Obi that is still waiting for Atiku to cum. Did any Yoruba beg you for any pity?

Ya’ll with your pull him Down syndrome. The game is being played by people with ambitions now, you guys have resorted to the game of pulling people down again. Whereas you don’t have the clout to even contest for presidential primaries under APC or PDP.

Should the SW also show the symptoms of accepting fate like you guys have done concerning the presidency position, that means the north will rule forever.

The SW will contest for 2023 presidency, it’s now left to you guys to form alliance with the northerners to make SW lose or wail till now till 2023 all you can , but the SW will not be scared of any human and we will contest.

You got the drift?

I wonder how any Yoruba man can actually say that it is in anyway fair or just that another Yoruba man will be president after 8 years of Obasanjo when the NC, NE and SE are yet to produce the President since democracy returned in 1999

But who am I kidding, Nigerians dont know the meaning of fairness or justice

all Nigerians want is my tribes man on the number one seat nobody is really interested on the condition of the country in general.we just had general elections few months ago and these people are already talking about their person being in the seat four years from now.
is it a problem for we to task these politicians to do what they were sent there to do in the first place then after four years we can decide to vote them or not.if the VP is having problems with his detractors it is a part of politics and one disadvantage of being in government we shouldn't be talking about four years from now.infact eh I conclude that we the common Nigerians are the biggest problem faced by this country not the politicians

That Pa Chukwudi character is pathetic. 9 out of 10 predictions he will get wrong because he is simply another hateful Igbo who will side with the options that works against the wellbeing or interest of Yoruba - never mind that such makes no sense. He said Saraki was the best and most intelligent politician in Nigerian and the conqueror of PMB, Tinubu and APC. He was not alone with that opinion as many Igbos queued behind Saraki their 'new King'.

I think we all know how Pa Chukwudi 'superman' former Senate President ended up. The guy has got it wrong so many time and is an example of why Igbos suck at politics.
