The legal representatives of Omoyele Sowore, publisher of Sahara Reporters, were chased away from the premises of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Mr Sowore, who is still being detained as at press time, was granted bail by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, after being charged with treason, fraud and insulting President Muhammadu Buhari.

He was arrested for spearheading a revolutionary protest against the federal government who termed it an attempted coup.

Although the bail conditions has reportedly being met, the DSS has refused to comply with the directive, saying due process has not been followed as the agency has not received any order mandating it to release the former presidential candidate.

Despite the claim which has been described as lies by Femi Falana, whose chamber is handling the case, legal representatives of the publisher alongside the court bailiff showed up at the premises of the DSS to serve the agency the order of the court.

TODAY POLITICS gathered that Inibehe Effiong and Sam Ogala were among the delegation who visited the premises.

The delegation were latter chased away as operatives of the DSS prevented them alongside the bailiff from gaining access to the premises, according to Mr Effiong.

“We went there but they chased everybody away; they were very hostile. We returned a second time and they also chased everybody away,” TheCable quoted the legal practitioner as saying when contacted.

“This is just persecution; an attempt to silence the man (Sowore). As far as we are concerned, it is an attack on the rule of law.

“They have continued to show open disregard for the court. We had to go with the bailiff of the court since they are claiming that they are not aware of the office. But everybody was chased away,” Effiong added.

The spokesman of the DSS, Peter Afunanya, when reached, confirmed efforts of the delegation to deliver the court order failed at the gate of the premises.

I'm grateful that this is happening in a case that Mr. Femi Falana is handling.
Femi Falana, Sowore, Oby Ezekwezili, Wole Soyinka, Tunde Bakare, Rev.Fr.Ejike Mbaka etc. all teamed up & gave us this present administration, so it is good that they are equally been served with the very soup they had made. No thanks to karma

Before Sowore's revolution, I said only a fool fight for the masses ( most especially in Africa when you can help them in whatever ways you can. ( But people couldn't read between the lines)
