Poland’s education system has done excellently well in recent times. Because of the huge drive in the country’s development and advancement of a world-class tertiary system in recent years, Poland now houses about 450 tertiary institutions. Many of these institutions are specialised, unlike a number of European universities, which utilize traditional model of lecturing across a wide range of programs. 

According to data from the 2012 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), Poland’s education system was ranked 10th best in the world, a powerful indication of just how quickly the country has risen from the death of communism in 1989.

The overwhelming popularity of Poland’s tertiary system is not the only thing the country has to offer. A number of universities offer English language taught courses, in addition to cheap living expenses, a rich cultural legacy and beautiful city areas. No wonder Poland is fast becoming a very attractive place to study abroad.

Some of Poland’s academic alumni are names you may already know, including the world's first female Nobel prizewinner, Marie Curie (who is equally the only woman to have won the prize twice), composer Frédéric Chopin and astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus to mention a few.
