Of recent there have been calls for the return of History as a subject to schools as it has become vital for younger generations to known more about the country.

Former Minister for Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, in a statement has however, given two reasons behind the stopping of History as a subject in schools.

He claimed History was stopped becauseĀ  'they don't want you to know that we were once a decent, civilised people.'

Fani-Kayode said, "The reason they stopped teaching history in our schools is firstly because they dont want u to know that we were once a decent, civilised people and secondly because they dont want u to know that some of our leaders are genocidal maniacs who have commited mass murder and treason.''

If we start to teach history in Nigeria, riots will break out one day and revolution will follow. There's no way you could read that Buharri looted trillions of naira for Abacha via PTF and is now looting more today and you won't revolt.

Imagine one history teacher, teaching about buhari, babangida, sani abacha, obasanjo, atiku, goodluck, tinubu, osinbanjo, akpabio, ibori and the history of looting in nigeria...the teacher indrectly is telling the students to do same when they find themselves in public offices in future...to discourage that, they stop the teachings of history...even the nigerian civil war.

Nobody is doubting this because I once told my friend same. Buhari in the 80s is same buhari today. Why wouldn't our youths be fighting over a tyrannical leader when they didn't know his antecedents? Anybody who thinks buhari is our messiah should have his/her brain checked because its possible the brain has been turned upside-down by illusions.

What was Buhari's achievement as military head of state?

What was his achievement as PTF chair?

What miracle would he now perform at old age when his health is even failing? A leader who is young, hale and hearty is still finding it difficult to fight corruption and attend to all the critical issues bothering on national unity security and economic development. Leadership role isn't an easy one. If a young man is voted president of a country today, or a state governor, by the time you check him out in the next 4 years, he has depreciated with grey hair visible all over his head. Obama, fashola, even Osinbajo are a good example. Now, one could imagine how much an already old man would have depreciated in the same period in health if he takes up a similar role.

For you to ask what is achievements were as PTF Chair, you must be a child.

Ask your 50 year old uncle.

The Usman Dan Fodio jihad which is still in progress is one of the major reasons for removing history from the school curriculum. It is a calculated effort to keep the young generation in the dark. But internet has all the information.

Not teaching history is one the reasons Nigerians dont know that the man who was put on the N20 note, Murtala Mohammed, was a terrorist and mass-murder

They stopped teaching history not to embarrass Nigeria's failed leadership. They don't want you to know that Nigerian leaders are mainly war criminals or Coupist. The same Bihari that is illegally detaining Sowore for calling for a peaceful revolution is the same one that overthrew Shagari's regime

lol you want them to teach that igbos killed sarduana or that hausas killed their innocent igbo neighbours in 1967?
you want them to teach that murtala muhammed called a meeting of Anioma people in asaba and when they came (women and children), he opened fire on them?
you want them to teach about how our democracy was truncated by buhari?

we dont need history...ours is an ugly past and a non-existent future
