Some call it a disgusting slum, some were born there and call it home. One thing remains for sure, it has to change in a way or another.
What do you think about this incredible Makoko ? How should it be developed ?

Wait, who demolished all those houses in Ikeja and VI?

I heard that Olympic gold medalists in Shot put come from this area grin They excrete indoors and fling it into the air towards the sea, aiming for the head of innocent whales in the water grin

Tinubu has destroyed Lagos.

Demolish and relocate them to ogun for agriculture. Even fishes here will contain too much zinc

Well, I was born in a place worse than this. My primary education was in that place. Today I am a graduate from one of the first generation federal universities.

The journey is far from palatable. But when your government fails you, try not to fail yourself. I am not where I need to be but I am definitely far from whence I started.

To everyone trying to weather the storm, may God be for you, a light when other lights have gone out. God's speed!!!

Great video! Thanks for sharing! I like watching travel documentaries as they allow to learn many new things about other countries and choose my next travel destinations. I haven't been to Makoko. Having watched your video, I've started thinking about visiting this place.
Lol. Cynicism.

Millions are just wasting there. That's not meant to be a slum, that's meant to be a large piece of real estate.

The fact that they used wood as it's foundation and it stretches down to the bottom of the lagoon that shows you that the location the slum is located is shallow, with a little sand filling that place u would get a good land from there. Then use it and build low cost high rise to accodate all the inhabitants, a win win situation for both the owners and the government

shocked

Relocate them to ibeju or lagos ibadan express area, and turn that place to a beatiful waterside real estate comuinity just like venice in italy

If you foolishly leave them there to continue thier suffering because you dont care, one day virus or disease might break out and spread to VGC, Ikoyi, Lekki and other highbrow areas

and most of the beautiful Oloshos Island people sleep with everynight comes from slum, so if they neglect them till a deadly virus breaks out, soon it would catch up with them
