Oga Nigerian's aren't COWARDS. The last "heroes" we had are called BIAFRA and you know what happened to them right? Massive rape, famine, hunger, malnutrition, slaughter of whole villages, maiming and at the end what happened? NOTHING!

Oh, lest I forget, to pour salt on their injury, the government collected all the money they had in the bank and gave each bank account owner 20 pounds irrespective of how much they had in their account before the war. By negative smartness, I'm referring to looking for shortcuts, man know man, cheating through exams, bribing the authorities, budget padding, exploiting customers, using religion to defraud unsuspecting people, etc.

bros if you are smart you would have decoded what was happening. The current nigeria benefits the west and our leaders. So they work in tandem. U think dino melaye will empower his village instead of buying cars He won't because during election he can buy their votes for 1k each. Well let me educate you a bit.

Smartness is the ability to use the knowledge you have to get what you want. It's more short term than anything.

Wisdom is using your knowledge including past choices to make the best decision route for you. It's more long term.

Intelligence is more of your ability to process and apply information in any context. It's a constant. It's more like your brain's processing power. You can overclock that power with smartness, wisdom, brilliance and wittiness but it still has a specific amount of physical cores and base clock speed.
Think of smartness as turbo mode.


So the idea that we replace smartness with intelligence is a commonality with all humans.

Intelligence is your ability to learn. It's a constant that can be measured based on context.

Smartness is the ability to use your intelligence to make quick witty decisions. It's not a constant as you can train this ability just the way you can train your muscle memory.

Thing is you can be averagely intelligent and be incredibly smart, just as you can be outstandingly intelligent and be averagely smart.

What Nigerians call smartness, would most times turn out to be total disresgard for the next person, basic etiquette, moral values, laws or rules and regulations.

A Nigerian will drive one way, get to the front- return to the correct lane and feel like a sharp guy.

A Nigerian will jump the queue, luckily they get attended to by whoever after dropping N200. They come back to you that is standing on the queue like a sane human being and tell you that you are not STREET SMART. So, you fit sleep here today o...Truly you might sleep there.


Na this kind smartness we dey exhibit most times. Majority of us are guilty of one or more. Not our fault sha, it is the kind of smartness you need to survive in a third world country, where everything-including the government is working against you.

The people that are BOOK SMART (we call them efiko and even demonise them), we stereotype them as clumsy and timid- NOT STREET SMART. The ones going about their businesses jejely are not left out from the above stereotype.

That is why when we go to countries where normal humans are, we complain it is slow, boring...etc. We have to relearn to live, because we have only been existing/surviving in the jungle we hopped on the plane from.

Seriously what we consider smartness is not at global level. We are intelligent, no doubt but we apply it wrongly and it's a pity we use it to destroy ourselves.

For instance, Nigerians got great start up minds breaking barrier and creating top notch products versatile in and outside the country. Critically looking deep at their operation, you would realise at a point they become greedy which makes them deviates to a substandard level. Nigerians are myopic to understand users outside the country are willing to use our products/services but will be disappointed the value of their money isn't reciprocated.

You will still see this same behaviour in countries like Russia, Poland China and basically any former soviet/communist country where people had to come up with alternative solutions because of bad governance. But ours still pushing us further and further into the darkness....why?
