Earlier this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S10 to much acclaim. The year has not yet come to an end but we are already getting rumors about the Galaxy S11. We expect the S11 to launch next year.

Reports have it that Samsung will soon receive test sockets for the Galaxy S11 periscope camera. These are manufactured by MecaTech Systems, a fellow Korean company. MecaTech makes both regular smartphone cameras and periscope cams. The company also makes ToF modules.

A test socket is used to carry out a final check of the hardware before the manufacturer starts shipping components.

If older leaks and rumors are anything to go by, then the Galaxy S11 will feature a 108MP sensor. This is inside a module by Samsung Electro-Mechanics.

According to the rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S11 will come with 5x optical zoom instead of a midway focal length – say, 3x zoom.

One recent and curious rumor has it that Samsung’s new flagship will also feature a spectrometer. This will analyze the chemical composition of objects. So, it will, for example, be able to estimate the calorie content of food.
