The Sexual Harassment Committee of the University of Ghana says there is not enough evidence in the BBC video to back the sex for grades claims against two lecturers of the university.

According to chair of the committee Dr. Margaret Amoakohene, even though the university frowns on the conduct of the two lecturers captured in the investigative piece, the evidence does not point to the allegation.

“Per the analysis on the video, there’s no direct correlation between lecturers conduct and the allegations made by the video. The evidence does not point to sex for grade. When we talk of sex for grade, we didn’t see much involvement of the lecturers of the university of Ghana,” she told Francis Abban on the Morning Starr Tuesday.

She added: “Our VC wrote to the BBC for their evidence, they declined and asked that we wrote to their legal department and we will do that today. Whether the BBC agrees or not, what we saw in the video constitutes gross misconduct and so the two of them are subject of investigations and then we can establish their level of culpability”.

I do agree the university would exonerate him. Which university would ever investigate and not exonerate its own? It's all about reputation and reputation is all about money... the bottom line. He is currently suspended.... may be asked to resign... then he moves on to another university.... no record of sexual misconduct.... unfounded allegations... and he continues to do the same. Sexual predators feel safe because they are protected by administration.

Any lecturer that offers grade for sex is a criminal, whether the students offers the sex willingly or not. Grades should be earned and not given out freely. If a student doesn't earn a mark, he/she shouldn't get it, if a student earns a mark, he or she should get it. The mentality that has overtaken lecturers thinking they can fail or pass any student is wrong and criminal.

Lecturers should take the challenge and expose students who offer them sex.
