Job Title: Chef

Chef Job Purpose:
Oversees a kitchen by managing and preparing food, deciding what dishes to serve and adjusting orders to meet employees request. Carry out prep work, such as chopping vegetables, but more often will be involved in cooking Continental and African. Chooses ingredients and designs a menu based on the seasonal availability of food items and health requirements. Creates unique dishes that would delight guests of employee if need arises.

Chef Job Duties:
Cooks employee's and guests' orders according to their preferences
Employs food safety best practices.
Acts with appropriate caution in a dangerous environment where there are knives and high-temperature surfaces
Selects choice ingredients that will give dishes the best flavor
Determines how much food to order and maintains an appropriate supply at the kitchen
Works quickly and accurately during busy periods, such as weekends and evenings
Maintains a tidy and hygienic environment in the kitchen
Takes direction and works with other staffs
