Since Tuesday been October 15, the federal government under the auspice of President Muhammadu Buhari have been negotiating with organized labourĀ  about the new minimum wage implementation and the Consequential Adjustment on the salaries of officials from grade level 7 above.

However on Friday after three days of tussles and trying to shift grounds and conciliating, the Federal government through the Ministry of Labour and Employment has arrived at a mutual consequential adjustment with organized labour with regards to increase in minimum wage from grade level 7 to 17.

"The consequential adjustment for Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure (CONPSS), called group one is;

Grade Level 07 -23.2%, Grade Level 08 -20%, Grade Level 09 - 19%, Grade Level 10 - 14 is 16%, while Grade Level 15-17 is 14%.

"The second Group consists of Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS), Consolidated Tertiary Educational Institutions Salary Structure (CONTEDISS), Consolidated University Academic Salary Structure II (CONUASS II).

"Others are; Consolidated Polytechnics and Colleges of Education Academic Salary Structure (CONPCASS) and Consolidated Research and Allied Institutions Salary Structure (CONRAISS).

"For Grade Level seven and its equivalent, it is 23.2%, Grade Level 8-14 Equivalent at 16%, and grade level 15-17 10.5% respectively.

The conciliators to this agreement in all the leaders of both the federal government through the offices of the Minister for Labour and Employment, Chis Ngige, acting Head of Service of the federation, Dr Folasade Yemi Esan, Nigerian Labour Congress's President, Ayuba Wabba, Trade Union Congress President, Mr Quadri Olaleye, TUC secretary general, among other eminent federal government and organized labour leaders.

This means that after this agreement, there will not be any strike action again says by the TUC president Quadri Olaleye,
