Footballers are rich, you can also add that they are very rich and yes! everyone will agree with you. Especially those footballers that once plied their trades in the top European Leagues as they are paid in thousands of hard foreign currency.

Sadly not all of these footballers have a happy-ending after their football careers and some of them have gone totally broke living in abject poverty.

Today at PEE Tv, we will be taking a look at 5 African stars (in no particular order) that went totally broke after their illustrious footballing career.

1. Emmanuel Ebuoe:

2. Wilson Oruma:

3. Eric Djemba Djemba

4. Ifeanyi Udeze

5. Mohammed Yusuf

Sometimes it's illiteracy, lack of proper education, contributed to their down fall.

With all the millions of pounds he was raking yearly, Emmanuel Ebuoe became broke? His story should serve as a lesson to young men

It's better not to taste wealth at all than to taste it and be relegated to poverty league. It will be like money ritual gone wrong.

I disagree, they didn't play in the days of Segun Odegbami. They played in the days of the likes of JayJay and Kanu.

Oruma was scammed. Scammed in a church setting by men Rev. Fireman supposedly introduced to him. All his life earnings for an oil business that never existed. I wonder how he is coping. He should have just stayed in Europe.
For those scammers, it is just a matter of time. Karma must hit you back
