Injection is the best, Works faster and effectively. When you take drugs, it first of all gets broken down chemically in the body before it's been absorbed in the blood stream,Then your brain makes it detects the cuprit(virus/bacteria) you trying to treat then the drug in your blood stream gets fortified with your white blood and go straight to fight the disease. That's long process compared to when you take injection. Injection boycotts being broken down and the brain consent, it just goes straight into the arthries and veins and start fighting the disease head on, it's when the war is ongoing, your brain will now realize, something is going on in this body, let me knock this whole body out so this process don't get interrupted(that's when you begin to feel dizzy and sleepy). |

I believe your question should be "Injection or Oral route (by mouth)". These are just routes through which drugs are administered into the body. Of course both come with their advantages and disadvantages. Most notably, injections have faster onset of action and are more appropriate in emergency cases. Also, almost all of the administered drug gets into the system (almost 100% bioavailability). Oral route however is more convenient for patients (anyone can pop a pill) and hence more appropriate for outpatients. 1 Like |

It depends on the drug and how you want it to be absorbed Some stuff needs to be released gradually Plus needles are inherently more dangerous, most people would prefer to give an oral form and avoid needles unless its necessary ie diabetics |

For me taking drugs is a lot of work.. i used to throw up as a kid when i fall ill if i try to swallow it or throw away my drugs when its time but i preferred the injection.. just bear the sting and that's all. Its best to live healthy not to fall ill tho 1 Like |

Some drugs don't have oral forms,so in cases like that you have no choice if that drug is the treatment for your condition. |

Injection and drug are not two substances with opposite meanings. Injection is just a means of administring drug. So, whether taken by mouth or by injection a drug is always a drug. Now to your question. It depends on the drug (some drugs can only be given by injection), the disease (some diseases have no oral drugs), the severity of the disease (use injection to deliver drugs in emergencies), and the state of the patient (injection for unconscious patients for example). |

I hate drugs. I always feel like there is a lump in my throat after taking drugs and it also gives me stomach ache... I would take a hundred injections over drugs any day. |

Different drugs are absorbed at different rates when given through various routes in the body. Some need to be taken orally so that they can be activated by the digestive enzymes in your gut or because they need to be absorbed more slowly. Some will only work when dissolved in oils while for some, they need water. The ones given as injections can be given into the muscle, not only on the buttocks but sometimes the thigh or the shoulder. They are often given so a large dose can be slowly absorbed into your bloodstream over a period time unlike oral drugs which usually digest quickly. Sometimes, if the person is unconscious or dehydrated especially in emergencies, the drug is given through a large vein directly into the bloodstream for rapid action. Drugs can also be given through the anus in children, epileptics or certain other conditions like hemorrhoids. Skin patches are also used for some medication. With all I read. Its risky to rely on NL for some info. OP, By drugs I know you mean oral administration and by injection you mean intravenous. If my assumption is correct, pick drugs over injection anytime. Injection may be faster because it bypasses the "first pass" which oral drugs have to deal with.
