Your charging port is very important and cleaning it from time to helps protect it against damage. Here are some few steps to do so;
Steps

1. Remove the battery prior to cleaning your phone to avoid injury. Keeping your phone on while you clean with a needle can cause electric shock and damage electrical parts. Most phones can be turned off by holding down the power button. Afterward, remove the battery to cut off its electricity. On some phones you can also select "Power Off" from the options menu to turn it off.

2. Wrap a needle tip with double-sided tape.

Purchase some syringes with 1 inch (2.5 cm) long 25-gauge needles. Most needles will work, but these are average in terms of length and gauge.

3. Take a small piece of double-sided tape and wrap it around the tip of the needle. Double-sided tape can be purchased from online suppliers and office supply stores.
Insert the needle to the left or right side of the charger port.

4. Hold the syringe comfortably as if it were a pencil. Insert the needle gently into the left or right side of the charger port. Drag the tip of the needle upward to pull the lint out of the port. Continue pulling the needle upward gently until all of the lint is cleared from the port.

5. Take care not to scratch the anchors on the left and right of the port with the tip of the needle.
Blow on the charger port to remove any remaining lint. After cleaning the port with the needle, blow into it gently to remove any excess lint. Take the time to look into the port and check for any lint that you missed. If you're having trouble getting lint out, consider using a can of compressed air.
