Champions have emerged for the 2019 Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Chevron Nigeria Limited Joint Venture National Art Competition for Nigerian Secondary Schools. The 2019 award and exhibition ceremony took place on Wednesday, Nov. 6th 2019 at MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos state. Francis Isa Nanribet, a 15year- SS2 student of Redeemed Peoples Academy, Jos, Plateau State, who emerged as the overall winner in the senior category, Elue Ezinne Ebube a 16year- SS2 student of Lawrence Prestine Academy, Asaba, Delta State came second and Ibenwanwo Anthony an 18year- SS3 student of UNIBEN Demonstration Secondary School, Edo State came third. Sokenu Daniel Semawon a 15year- SS1 student of Redeemer’s International Academy Ifewara, Osun state came fifth while Toluwalope Temidayo John a 16year- SS2 student of Redeemer’s International Academy Ifewara, Osun state came ninth.
In the Junior category, Ogbomo Esosa Gift a 12year- JSS2 student of UNIBEN Demonstration Secondary School, Edo State was the overall winner and Iribhogbe Omuua Oshorhiamene a 13year- JSS2 student of UNIBEN Demonstration Secondary School, Edo State came next, while Oreolu David Olopete an 11year- JSS1 student of Holy Breed Secondary School, Okpella, Edo State came third.

The national art competition for Nigerian secondary schools is intended to utilize art to accomplish patriotism about Nigeria from early stages of youth improvement and make early mindfulness on social issues and qualities in Nigeria. Sokenu Daniel Semawon a 15year- SS1 student of Redeemer’s International Academy Ifewara, Osun state who emerged fifth said in his words “The concept of my artwork is to create an awareness of Advancing Agriculture through Technology, because in recent times, it has been left to literal documentation but there is need for the visuals to be in place for the present generation and the generations yet to come that Agriculture still needs to be developed and advanced.” READ MORE....
