Akpabio never saw this coming, he thought the court will give a rule for him to be a senator just like that. He can't eat his cake and have it. The question is what will be his fate if he fails to be a senator after resigning as a minister of NDDC?

Don't blame the party but the judiciary. Appeal court is a mess . If there are irregularities and the umpire voided the votes , so should it be
Why order a re run?
Same LG presidential results shows a total vote cast of 23000 . How did senatorial election held same time and date had over 90000 votes ? It's fraud and suppose to be cancelled and never a re run
This is a cash and carry judgement no doubt
A rerun should have been called for in ekiti

If the margin of votes with which one party is leading is higher than the cancelled votes, then there is no need for rerun. You need to have the exact facts to make a comparison.
The canceled votes were more than the lead

PDP is a party of hypocrites. If they agree with this judgement, they should have disagreed with the silly judgement that gave an illegal victory to Olujimi in Ekiti instead of ordering for a rerun.

The court of appeal should have a standard to follow as far as election petition is concerned. They cannot cancel the result of a local government in Ekiti as a result of violence and irregularities without ordering a rerun in the council while cancelling the result a local government council in Akwa Ibom for the same reason and ordering a rerun in the affected local government.

What is good for Akwa Ibom should be good for Ekiti. The judiciary should not promote double standard.
Yes I think of all the posts yours capture reality. When it was obvious Akpabio was going to loss a the Appeal they sought for its replacement.

It might interest you to note that Akpabio and APC specifically shopped for this particular Appeal Court Members when the secured the favour of the Appeal Court President to disban the previous Court members.

Thus, now that he has gotten what he wanted, let him enjoy.

See the total number of registered voters in the LGA

That was a miscarriage of judgement, a disgrace to the judiciary

The senator is leading with over 38,000 votes and you order for an election in a LG with the total registered voters of 23,000
This is nothing than a dead trap for Akpabio.

Even if Akpabio wins all the registered votes in his local government he still won't return to the Senate

Is that for real? How did the court then pronounce such a judgement?

We need to investigate the certificate you claimed to have because even my brother in S.S 2 knows that Akpabio must resign. Unpatriotic calling himself patriotic

Nonsense. What have you got to say about the daylight robbery in Osun? Olujimi has come to stay, you can continue wailing

The judgment is apt, and Akpabio has to resign in order contest. If he wins good, if he doesn't still good for him. After all na him run go court.
