It is so unfortunate and a big insult to the entire South East region of Nigeria that it can not boost of any sports facility that can host an international competition.

Amaju Pinnick, the President of Nigerian Football Federation made this shocking revelation on ChannelTelevisions' flagship program, Sunrise Daily this morning. Though Pinnick acknowledged the Eyimba stadium as having one of the best Turf in Nigeria, but accessibility (bad road) and hotels to host visitors is absent.

The only State in the South East that can remedy this ugly situation at the moment is Imo. Owerri has good roads and great hotels, Governor Ihedioha need to as a matter of urgency upgrade the Dan Ayiam Stadium to International standard.

Everything is not about marginalization, and I think the greatest problem of the South East is her leaders. Even our people are not helping matters, we keep pointing fingers to Abuja and other regions, while neglecting our own collective responsibly.

If we can't produce quality and visionary leaders, it means that there's something wrong with us as a people.
