All these beaches and resorts are over hyped

The best time to visit is when they just opened shop(when they re just starting out).

When I Visited La capagne in 2010, it was so exquisite and lovely. Will try and get pix from my archives.
It was also cheap to enter lol.

Talk about whispering palms, LCC, and the likes. They were very cheap over a decade ago.

Perhaps inflation also attributed to their exhorbitant fees.

Exclusive pics from JULY 2010.

You people are just saying it's far forgetting everyone doesn't live in same area. Far from where? Some people live in ajah, Epe and even ibeju lekki sef. So it's not far to those people.

That's my point exactly. They don't have to say it's far as if everyone is staying in alagbado and iyanaipaja mainland.

Nice spot. Though 250k a night is quite high. Any cheaper single room accommodation?

A cheaper option might be to stay at either Eko Tourist Beach Resort or Hermitage Resort, both in Akodo (opposite Lekki Free Trade Zone) and then drive about 15 - 20 mins to La Campagne Tropicana to spend the day. You should be able to get a 1 bedroom chalet for less than 30k there, and they also have nice and quiet beach fronts too, but not with varieties like La Campagne.

La Campagne accomodation has always been expensive, it was about 100k as at 2008. So I suspect the pricing is in dollars, just converted to Naira.

1. La Campagne Tropicana is one of the numerous beaches in Lagos. Situated somewhere in Ibeju Lekki.

WARNING!
The road is FAR. If you do not have patience, if time isn't on your side- pls, don't try it. It would/should take a total of 6hrs for the trip (to and fro), minus traffic. Journey started somewhere on the mainland.

Out of curiousity, on our way there, I tried booking a trip via UBER. Got an estimate of N7700- N10150. If I am a driver, I wouldn't even go. Except you book me for a day job. Lol

Trying over uber is a waste of time... U should have tried Bolt... See below

However, it is still about 1 hr drive from Ajah, with no traffic.

But on a serious note, one needs to go to these places once in a while, and I'm happy to see more of us touring in our own country. Just to stay on the beach for 2 nights would be so relaxing. I'm currently saving up for a 1 week stay in Idanre Hills. I may do this for the Christmas break, away from the hectic celebrations.

pocohantas:
I spent just an 1hr 15mins there. Couldn't access their rooms- however, I plan going back there for my honeymoon. Maybe then, I can give a comprehensive report of the rooms and services.

Wait, what? 6 hours to and fro to spend an hour or so ... are you doing stuff for some tourism company or something?

I just Googled the location, it looks like an unsafe place, what's their security architecture to prevent kidnappers and armed robbers That's the major challenge with going to anywhere outskirt Nigeria's main city areas

Idanre is another sweet place
Been there a couple of times. But am sure it's not as it used to be.

When I visited idanre, climbed to the highest point on the hill where very few people have settlements.
Don't know if people still live on the hill as of today, but Gulder ultimate search held one season on the hill, I remember.

Tourism was sweeter a decade ago.
Not sure I will ever visit any tourist site in Nigeria.

Pics of idanre hills and Erin-ijesha water falls 12 years ago. Lol.
