Sometimes December, 2018, a bill establishing federal polytechnic, Kwale, Delta State, alongside such other polytechnics as the federal Polytechnic, Daura was passed by The National Assembly and passed on to the president for assent. We believe that this bill has been assented to by the President as the polytechnic in Daura has commenced operation in 2019/2020 academic session. However, we are surprised to note that the federal polytechnic, Kwale has not taken-off. Curiously enough, we learnt that there is another bill in The Senate to establish another federal Polytechnic in Orogun, Delta State sponsored by the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo Agege. We hope this is not to take the place of the Federal Polytechnic, Kwale that has been established by an Act. This observation is important because so far the convention is that each state is entitled to a federal polytechnic. It is also necessary to note further that Orogun is located in Delta Central Senatorial Distrrct, home to the Urhobo ethnic group. At present, this area is home to seven tertiary institutions made up of two universities (Delta State University, Abraka, not far from Orogun, Federal University of Petroleum Resources; two colleges of educations inWarri and Mosoga; noe polytechnic in Oghara and a monotechnic(Petroleum Training Institute), and one college of health technology on Ughelli.

Kwale is home to the Ukwani speaking people of Delta State, and one of the local government headquarters of old Bendel State. Kwale is also home to more than ten oil companies that are into oil exploration. This means that Kwale community contributes handsomely to the national treasury. Also, notable is the Independent power plant that supplies electricity to Aso Rock that is located in the community. Considering the above, we believe that Kwale deserves the Federal Polytechnic, which is the only federal presence in the entire Ndokwa nation comprising three local government, The Community is appealing to President Mohammadu Buhari and the federal lawmakers to give the federal Polytechnic, Kwale the needed support to facilitate its take-off. This no doubt will strengthen the people's belief in justice and equity.

Just shut it.

Kwale polytechnic is now a forgotten issue as ovie omo-agege has pushed it down. Is no longer coming.

Orogun is the next....where you all sleeping when Central carried all the institutions.

There are 11 oil companies in kwale ranging from Agip to Midwestern to Energia to sterling even pillars and etc.

With all these kwale still looks like 1929 village with no single infrastructure. Politics of oil and our oil has rendered the community unproductive. let me not even talk of no power supply there because that one is a forgotten issue.

Stop writing text and protest to get what is yours but no they will be fighting on our oil na we get am when even food Dem no see chop.

Sorry..

Yeah and the Agbor person speaks Agbor and the Onitsha man speaks Onitsha and Asaba man speaks Asaba and the Awaka man speaks Awka.

At the end of the day, they all understand each other because they are all speaking Igbo

Your assumption is foolish

Agbor man speaks Ika..

Asaba are the Enuanis, so is right to say they speak Enuani.

Your argument holds no water.
