You guys are just one-track minded. Once something is planted in your minds, even if its falsehood, it can never be uprooted again. You'll just keep repeating it like a mantra, when it makes sense and when it doesn't.

Go and find out. Has there ever been any government starting from 1999 till date that Sahara Reporters has not lambasted for failing the people?

Was it Sowore that voted Buhari in in 2015?

Why do you keep repeating the same worn out story anyway?

Can't you do the deductions yourself?

America does it regularly

Go and read about Patriot Act

The patriot act is used when government wants to take control of technology, or medicine or products that can create significant national security issue in private hands without government oversight.

Most of the times America had enforced the patriot act, it is to prevent the sale of highly sensitive military technology by private companies to foreign lands not sanctioned by the state's department.

Free speech, freedom of press, the right to bear arms is protected by the American constitution and is above any other law.

That is bad but Sowore was not arrested in the course of journalism.

Comprehension deficit! The issue is about the rule of laws, two courts have instructed that he be released, is that beyond your comprehension.

Forget the event that led to his arrest. He has been granted bail, why is he still in DSS custody. It's Sowore today, it could be you tomorrow.

National security supercedes the law
What constitutes national security issue is determined by a judge in a court of law not Donald trump or his chief of staff.

And the court's decision is final at any point.

sad

Looking at Sowore's antecedents, I know Sowore means well. The points he raised for the revolution bears witness to this.

Still he made some great blunders.

1. He should not have rushed the plan of a revolution. The only planned revolution that could have changed things would be not less than a million man strong. Not some few youths easily dispersed by rubber bullets and tear gas.

2. He should not have contested for any political office. He didn't realize that you can't be a politician and also an activist trying to change the political terrain.

3. He should NEVER have met or associated with Nnamdi Kanu, the known fugitive and rabble rouser.

Those were Sowore's blunders.

Also, it's difficult to fight for Nigerians. They will insult you and persecute you. They have fallen in love with their tormentors.

Fighting their tormentors is like fighting them.

Just leave them in peace to soak garri with their pains and sufferings.
I was talking with a friend concerning matters of the state and his words hunt me till date. See the average Nigerian sees the Federal Government as a god with absolute power over the land and it's people to them Jehovah or Allah is the one sustaining them and helping them "survive" the Government. It is a shit hole mark my words if things don't work out well and become clear by 2023 a people will commit mass suicide it will be the very first in this country I am dead serious I have seen it

We should eschew the spirit of whataboutism. Buhari and the APC government should release Sowore and free the guy.

This is how Nigeria political class operate:
For a citizen to successfully criticize or demand anything from the governemnt the opposition must be in support for it to yield fruit. The Tinubus et.al left Sowore to his fate because they know it will affect their so called APC government.

If Sowore had carried out the revolution protest before the 2019 election, he would have had the massive support of the PDP who will try to use that as a politics to attack the FG. Since Sowore did it after the election, he lost the compassion of both friends and enemies alike.

Tinubu, Osinbajo and the SW caucus should just intercede to free this guy coz "Omo eni ko ni buru titi, ka le fun ekun paje"

This is so true, and I consider his contesting at the last election a blatant miscalculation.

One thing is certain, Buhari must spend his remaining years with grey hairs in prison.

He won't go scot-free. He is a mean paedophile...an unrepentant Islamic fundamentalist, an unintelligent military weakling, an indecisive idiots & cow fukker.

I am his N0. 5 tormentor in Chief after Reno, Kanu, FFK & Fayose

Yes, it is a blatant miscalculation on his part coz the government will have justification for arresting him by saying he is tryna overthrow a democratically elected government after he lost in the election.

If you check the history of Nigeria, the protest that gained fame and success can originate from only two source: A non-ruling coalition ethnic group or an opposition backed protest.

That Sowore and his Sahara reporters as well as every other newspaper of Lagos Ibadan axis played a very significant role in the enthronement of this govt is a fact and a fact is a fact even if it starts sounding like a cliché to you, people like me will continue to sound it so that history does not repeat itself, like my people say he who fetched an ant infested firewood should not complain when the lizard visits. I don't know what other deductions you want me to make.

Oga sit down and stop sounding like a broken record. Your nostalgic feelings for the woeful Jonathan administration shouldn't crowd out your sanity. This country need media outlets like Sahara Reporters that will always be in the opposition to serve as checks and balances to the excesses of any Administration. Sowore didn't endorse anybody, he was only doing his job as a Journalist and none of his investigations lacked substance. He did all these with the hope that someday your children can have a less fvcked up country with no thieves and Dictators running its affairs. So instead of rushing at any opportunity to punch your keypads, allow your mental faculties to catch up with the speed of those fingers too.

What a lot of ignorant rubbish! How slow-witted do you have to be not to know that Khashoggi was a Washington Post employee, and that the paper has run multiple front-page articles on his murder, condemning both MBS and Trump? The Washington Post is among the last media outlets anyone with an IQ above 70 would make such ludicrous allegations against!

Don’t mind the ignorant buffoon. I bet he wasn’t even aware of the WaPo’s existence before today, let alone read it enough to have the first clue about the scope of their journalism. The worst thing of all is that at least 19 other nitwits saw fit to give the clown a “like”; the shambolic state of Nigeria’s educational system is routinely evidenced in the utter incapacity of so many Nairalanders to apply critical thinking to anything they read that fits in with their existing prejudices.
