After so much talk about the Huawei Mate X foldable smartphone, the phone officially went on sale last week. Huawei had a flash sale in which all units of the device were sold out in a matter of minutes. That flash sale had the Mate X sold for 16,999 Yuan (about $2,420).

The next sale of the device will take place on 22nd November. However, according to reports, third-party sellers are already selling it through unofficial channels in the Chinese market.

What is amazing is the price tag of the Mate X on the third-party websites. These sellers are selling the device for as high as 60,000 Yuan (roughly $8,540). This high pricing is attributed to Huawei’s lack of supply of the device.

Huawei unveiled the Mate X foldable smartphone during the Mobile World Congress 2019 back in February. When unfolded, the device features an 8-inch display with a resolution of 2480×2200 pixels. This display has an aspect ratio of 8:7.1.

Upon unfolding, it transforms into a dual-display phone. One side is a 6.6-inch display with a resolution of 2480×1148 pixels and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The other side is a 6.38-inch display with a resolution of 2480×892 and a 25:9 aspect ratio.

The Huawei Mate X comes with two in-built batteries with a total capacity of 4,500mAh. It supports up to 55W fast charging. According to Huawei, the phone can charge from zero to 85 percent in just 30 minutes.
