Are they going to eat money?

When all the fishes are dead, and all the trees are withered and all the waters are polluted, then you would realise you can't eat money.

stupidity at its best, so we should continue fishing in a lagoon rather than getting our petrochemicals refined

so because of fish protein and income to fisherman , we should deny 200 million people access to cheaper petrol, gas for power and fertilizers for farming

..

The point made is valid. Is it possible for the refinery to be environmental friendly? That's the question that should be askrd? We are ruining our planet at a fast space. Global Warming is causing more and more devastation. Already parts of Ogun state are already flooded

There are some food items Nigeria cannot attain self-sufficiency which is caused by Nigerians themselves. You can't imagine that fish is being imported when we have water bodies surrounding us.

Just like rice, how can staple food be self sufficient?

The best thing is start working on how you will leave the country. Me eh! Am tired looking for who will get it right.

so long Nigeria would be Dangote's first market then shipping cost of petrol would be eliminated and yes thats the cheapness i expect.. either it reduces burden on subsidy or make landing cost cheaper

Dnagote refinery contacted a british firm for its enviromental impact accessment, same with healt accessment.. he isnt dredging any ocean space but building on Ibeju lekki avalable land, should we bother him too much he can still relocate to ghana or other business friendly countries

Shithole country. How can a sane individual allow oil refinery in the proximity of a city of several millions of people. They want to destroy Lagos because they have moved to Abuja.
Lagos will be so polluted, people will be dying of lung diseases like crazy. Dangote s businesses strive on blood.

While the world is moving on from oil, Nigerians want to die on top oil matter. Vietnam makes about USD 5 Billion from its fish per annum without wrecking their environment. Norway makes USD8.8 Billion per year from fish. Nigeria imports the most fish in Africa. It has all but wrecked fishery in the Niger Delta now this oil madness has moved to the west

Fishing has been going on in that place for centuries and has been passed down from generation to generation but suddenly it's ending without warning and you think the people affected do not matter? When they become militants don't complain

Such a pity. It just shows that they don't give a shyt about the plight of the common man. Anyone who has been to Tai in Rivers would get a clearer pic of what refineries have done to the coastlines for this our obodo Naija. Why person wey de satisfied with a fishing career before oil spillage, no go join pipeline vandalism Inc last last?
