While growing up as a child, l had this belief of being treated as a princess, marrying a guy that will give me certain amount of joy, expecting my parents to meet certain needs, having friends who would voluntarily push me to fulfil my desires and so on and so forth.

The list was actually endless but as l grew into a young lady , l came to the realization that people may provide some of those needs but not to the point of satisfaction.

I was devastated when l found that l had to do the work myself, get all l wanted in life myself and the harder tasks in my life was all signed up in my name. The statement that terrified me most was when l became aware of my destiny being in my own hands and not in other people's.

I developed the habit in looking at people to feel beautiful, waiting for their speech to be strong and courageous. I felt people owed me a whole lot even though l did not earn most of these kind gestures. In the process, l became weak and lazy. I believed l had time to wait for people to be my rescue.
