Galadima Fails In Bid To Win FIFA Seat / Adamu Blasts Nff Over Galadima's Nomination / Should Galadima Resign As NFA Chairman? (2) (3) (4)
Galadima Set To Replace Adamu by supereagle(m): 5:35am On Nov 23, 2010 |
The Nigeria Football Federation has nominated former Chairman of the body Ibrahim Galadima to seek the Confederation of African Football executive committee elective post, reports claimed on Monday. The endorsement followed the FIFA three-year ban on Amos Adamu from football-related activities over his alleged involvement in the 2018 and 2022 World Cups bidding scandal. As a result Adamu has lost his executive committee positions in CAF and FIFA. And he is not qualified to stand in for the CAF executive committee election in February 2011 when his first-term tenure expires. It was learnt that both the National Sports Commission and the NFF were in full agreement with Galadima‘s nomination. ”Nigeria is fully backing Galadima to get on the CAF exco,” a top official told MTNFootball.com on Monday. ”This was not the case with Ghana, for instance, where the government had a candidate and the FA had another. ”Now the government has to use its resources to ensure he is elected for Nigeria to still have a voice in international football.” Galadima‘s curriculum vitae was on Monday sent to CAF and so beat the Monday midnight deadline reserved for nominations for the CAF polls. The CAF executive committee elections will be conducted in Khartoum, Sudan, in February. Galadima was NFA boss between 2002 and 2006. http://www.punchontheweb.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art201011233255348 |

Re: Galadima Set To Replace Adamu by tunyus(m): 2:01pm On Nov 23, 2010 |
Digriz:why cant dis northern pple leave polticking for once. Are they mad? Segun odegbami is a beta candidate by far |
Re: Galadima Set To Replace Adamu by medjai(m): 2:07pm On Nov 23, 2010 |
honeric01:His only sin was when he said "the world cup is not our birthright" when we failed to qualify for the 2006 world cup. I dont think he's corrupt |
Re: Galadima Set To Replace Adamu by slap1(m): 2:56pm On Nov 23, 2010 |
Digriz:The north will hold any position of power till they prove their ineptitude to the whole world. Even then, they won't relinquish power. |
Re: Galadima Set To Replace Adamu by semid4lyfe(m): 3:29pm On Nov 23, 2010 |
slap1: Amos Adamu was from the South-west and not the North. Ibrahim Galadima is a good candidate. . . apart from being NFA Chairman when the Super Eagles match was moved to Kano & ultimately failing to qualify for Germany 2006 and his controversial "World Cup is not Nigeria's Birthright'' statement, he has no other luggage IMO. At least, he has never been alleged to be corrupt or accused of corruption like Amos Adamu. Still, I would have preferred Segun Odegbami or former NFA Chairman, Kodjo Williams |

honeric01: No he wasn't but he shouldn't have said it being that he was the head of the NFA |
Re: Galadima Set To Replace Adamu by HamidO1(m): 4:59pm On Nov 23, 2010 |
medjai: What do you mean by his only sin? Our football is in a sorry state today because of series of bad administrators that have headed the glass house in the past decade of which Galadima is one. He also contributed to the downfall of football in this country. |
Re: Galadima Set To Replace Adamu by ogaemma: 7:23pm On Nov 23, 2010 |
Why we people blame IBB for coming back. This country needs a revolution and not a democracy.Tomorrow Sani Lulu will come back for one stupid position to continue to steal and to destroy. Shame on NFF. |

GALADIMA again, Segun odegbami or mitchell obi is the right person for the seat. |
Re: Galadima Set To Replace Adamu by supereagle(m): 12:37am On Nov 24, 2010 |
We should blame Amos Adamu for given them the opportunity. Galadinma is not corrupt like Adamu. When they disengaged him from Nfa seat , he left $1.5million dollars behind , the people that came after him finished in one fell swoop. Adamu was calling the shot then. |
Re: Galadima Set To Replace Adamu by EEspeed: 4:53am On Nov 24, 2010 |
Amos Adamu was from the South-west and not the North. Amos adamu is fromthe north, he has denied being from the south all his working life so we reject the thief now. |

donobi: Sorry mate,we're talking about CAF and FIFA executive committee seats here, not your local newspaper column or radio/TV journalism seat |
Re: Galadima Set To Replace Adamu by tkb417(m): 8:20am On Nov 24, 2010 |
rasputinn:and what makes Galadima more knowledgeable than the two he mentioned? Amos Adamu was from the South-west and not the Northjust like Olusola/Bukola Saraki are from South West abi? |
Re: Galadima Set To Replace Adamu by rasputinn(m): 8:41am On Nov 24, 2010 |
tkb417: He once was chairman of the FA He has experience in football administration, while the other two have been mere observers in football administration. It's an insult to even compare Segun Odegbami, and a bigger insult to compare Mitchel Obi with Galadima in the area of football administration Those two are practically neophytes who need to be weaned first before they can then proceed to understudy well renowned sports administrators at that level to s cut their teeth |

tkb417: Are you equating Ogbomosho in Osun state with Kwara in the middle belt of Nigeria |
Re: Galadima Set To Replace Adamu by tkb417(m): 8:47am On Nov 24, 2010 |
rasputinn: ill start from the scratch where was Galadima b4 he became the NFA chairman? what experience did he have? Oneya and the other peeps that have been ruling the glass house. Segun Odegbami has not been able to rule the glass house because of the way the position has been politicized not because he doesnt have the requisite knowledge of football admin and oh yeah, Segun is more of a footie technocrat that Galadima and he has investments in football. He didnt stumble of football |
Re: Galadima Set To Replace Adamu by tkb417(m): 8:48am On Nov 24, 2010 |
rasputinn:is Amos Adamu from Osun or Kogi state? |
Re: Galadima Set To Replace Adamu by rasputinn(m): 9:05am On Nov 24, 2010 |
tkb417: Like someone rightly pointed out,his name is Tunde Aremu aka Amos Adamu. He is from Osun state Were you not at his daughter's traditional wedding in Ogbomosho? |
Re: Galadima Set To Replace Adamu by rasputinn(m): 9:09am On Nov 24, 2010 |
tkb417: Galadima was already on the board of the FA before he became chairman of the NFA.This is what I consider pre-requisite qualification to aspire to higher offices such as CAF,then FIFA exec committees, those neophytes you mentioned, dont have this experience yet Membership/chairmanship of the NFA(or is it NFF now) would be a better suggestion for Odegbami and Obi |
