What a disciplined performance from Joshua, who kept his opponent at distance and was barely troubled by Ruiz. He shed 11lbs for the fight, looking for agility and speed over power. And it was that lightness on his feet that won the day.

Joshua used his height, physique, reach and most especially his jabs effectively in this fight.

I’m impressed with Ruiz, it’s amazing how he kept coming forward, never backed down. He is warrior.

With a much taller and skilful Fury, Joshua need to work very hard and against Deontay Wilder, he need to be at his best.

He can't get wilder or Ortiz with jabs. Ortiz is a counter puncher and wilder just need a little opening and error and that's all. A perfectly timed right hand will send AJ to the canvass.


Meanwhile AJ can't and will never stand Wilder or Fury. I won't mind a fight against chisora or takam though.

AJ stuck to the boxing text and delivered the win.
