Don't be surprise that nothing will be done to the policeman, the case will soon be a forgotten story. Many cases like that here in Lagos state.

Police are meant to protect people from hoodlums, armed robbers, etc., but if we count the number of lives lost to police compared to these criminals, I think police's is greater with this level of brutality. People in the vicinity need to react to this kind of police violence to serve as a deterrent to other trigger-happy policemen.

The Nigeria police force should tackle this type of incidence, its one too many. An almost accomplished life has been gunned down by a man in uniform because of a metal he holds, shame on the NPF

Why would people always act tough around untrained men with guns? Just follow commands once you see a police with a gun harrassing you,get his identity and file a petition afterwards...Now this is where you get him questioned and punished as a learned fellow not by challenging him to shoot.

Police kill in the USA too. However, in most cases it is in response to an armed suspect. If you're told to drop your weapon and you don't comply, or you make any sudden move, you're dead.

In Nigeria, people are not armed. So there is no threat to the police officer. So why shoot?

This lawlessness needs to end. But I don't know what the solution is. Maybe Nigerians need to start protesting in large numbers in front of the parliament. Imagine if 50 thousand Nigerians came out in one day with placards! Somebody would take notice.

These people do not value citizens' lives, in the end the officer would defend himself saying it was accidental discharge. And trust me all these noise we make do not affect or influence them in the least. I propose jungle justice to despicable acts as this, let 2 or 5 officers die in this way and they'll start taking us seriously that Nigerians are not chickens to be slaughtered anyhow.
