Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos

Prince Tony Momoh, a former Minister of Information on Wednesday said Adams Oshiomhole, national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has no business interfering in the affairs of the party in Edo State.

Speaking in an interview with Daily Independent, Momoh, a former national chairman of the defunct Congress for Progressives Change (CPC) said the task of organising and funding the party is the sole responsibility of Governor Godwin Obaseki, who by the party’s constitution is the leader of the APC in Edo State.

According to him, going by APC’s constitution, the governor is the chief executive officer of the party in any state where APC is the ruling party.

He advised Oshiomhole to focus on his task at the national level saying there are lots of issues that needs to be addressed by the national chairman of the party nationwide.

“Oshiomhole is the national chairman of APC. In states where we have a governor, the head of the party or chief executive officer of the party in the state is the governor. That is the structure of APC. So, I don’t think Oshiomhole and Governor Obaseki are at loggerheads.

“Obaseki is the Chief Executive Officer of the party in Edo State according to our structure. He organises the party, funds the party and so on. I believe Oshiomhole is not claiming to be the party leader or chairman of APC in Edo State, because he is not.”

As national chairman, he has his hands full at the national level so what will he be doing in Edo state? He has no business in the organisation of the party in Edo state”.

“ I know some people who are trying to cause crisis in Edo state are doing so in the name of Oshiomhole but I don’t think Oshiomhole can be advised to champion anybody’s cause in Edo state because he has so many things to do at the national level” he said.

I am happy a key son of Edo North and one of Oshiomole kinsmen is coming out to reveal valuable facts.

Those legislators who throw away their legislative positions in Edo state House of Assembly to follow Comrade Oshiomole will be biting their fingers by now saying:

HAD I KNOW !

Well, such is life ! especially when they allow a less educated man like Comrade Oshiomole to lead them.

These legislators have lost sitting allowances, membership position in the Edo state House of Assembly.

Even when the governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki begged them to go and be inaugurated.

They were still being drunk with Comrade 's champagne wine.

I hope the champagne wine served them by the Comrade himself is now getting clearer.

Oshiomole has committed the legislators to loose their seats in the state house of assembly and abandon them.

Obaseki... the fearless, the brave, the powerful .

Just like Adeleke, Dino, Saraki, Atiku, Eleka, etc.

You have started working your magic on Obaseki.

Major General Muhammadu Buhari ( rtd ) will just be looking at them.

He is the type that does not like to meddle too much into states matters.

Oshiomole has not been talking. He's been keeping quiet. Oshiomole that dealt with Saraki, Kwankwaso, Atiku, Dino, Fayose.

Obaseki thinks he can talk, can he talk up to Fayose?
Oshiomole ruined Fayose to the extent that he's become deaf and dumb.

Obaseki would soon know the difference between people who can give you votes and people who can only give you support.

Why are we so easily fooled?

Hardtalk:
There’s No Stopping Fashola’s Probe —Keyamo
April 16, 2010 15:02, 1,040 views
By Kazeem Ugbodaga

Lagos lawyer and counsel to the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Festus Keyamo says nothing would stop the House from probing allegations of financial misappropriation against Governor Babatunde Fashola.

He called on the governor to submit himself to probe in order to clear himself, saying there was no hiding through court injunction to dodge the probe against him.

The State House of Assembly had yesterday set up a fresh 7-member committee to probe allegations against the governor by the True Face of Lagos, which staged a protest to the House recently to demand probe of the governor.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS this morning, Keyamo said that the governor should be probed, adding that the accolades the governor received in the media should not divert attention from the real thing.

“Every public officer has a duty to give account of stewardship no matter the height of praise singing he receives from the press. The office you are occupying is not your father’s property but the public.

“Probe is not the same thing as verdict of guilt, but an opportunity for one to clear himself. If Fashola believes his hands are clean, now is the opportunity for him to shine,” he stated.

According to him, “Fashola should take the path of honour and clear himself of the allegations. He can’t continue to hide under court injunction.

“If you say you plant grass and flower, come and tell the people how much you spent in planting them, tell them how you spent their money because it is not your father’s money.

“The House must go ahead with the probe because it is their constitutional and moral duty to do what they want to do. They have now properly published the allegations in their official journal.”

Comrade Bamidele Aturu, who was counsel to Mr. Richard Akinola, the man who first went to court to stop the House from probing the governor, said “we will assess our legal option and deal with the issue.”

Aturu stated that if the House erred in setting up the new committee, it would be challenged in the court, saying that “we are for democracy and probity.”

Also, Majority Leader, Lagos Assembly, Hon. Kolawole Taiwo said the House had already published the allegations in the Assembly’s journal, saying that the House would go ahead with the probe.

How many votes did Tony Momoh give Obaseki in the last election?
First wise comment I’ve read here so far.

Many so called “political analysts” here do not understand the meaning of Political capital at all.

Not ALL governors are LEADERS of their political parties.
Somebody like Obaseki can never claim to be Edo Apc leader!.

Just like the people of Kogi dealt with Dino, the People of Ekiti dealt with Eleka and the people of Osun dealt with Adeleke. The people of Kano death with Kwankwaso and Nigerians dealt with Atiku.

Oshiomole retired all those guys I mentioned and PDP is yet to recover from the damage. Oshiomhole is talented in assembling mass attack. You won't see his hands but when the storm comes, you're a goner.

You mm don't know anything about politics, you should shut up when people like us are talking.

Without Federal might, Oshiomole collected Edo from Obasanjo and chased Osunbor out.

Go and read what happened in Court that day when Obasanjo ran out of Edo state, people surrounded the Court and the Judge was forced to stand down to the matter to rewrite the judgment.

It seems you just started following politics last weekend.

Kid. Oshiomhole's victory in the court in 2008 was actually made possible by Tinubu's manipulation of the courts through the then President of the court of Appeal, Justice Salami. It was not due to Oshiomhole's ingenuity or popularity. Same with Aregbesola and Fayemi. But I don't expect u to understand this.

Before Oshiomhole got his second term in 2012, he had to go to beg then President Jonathan not to use the federal might to unseat him at the poll. And there was agreement that in return Adam would deliver Edo to Jonathan in the 2015 election, but Adam reneged. Same scenario played out when Peter Obi wanted to install Obiano in 2014.
