The way people congratulate Nigerians abroad for winning seats as a government official abroad OFF ME.

Hope we all as Nigerians are prepared and absolutely Okay for foreigners to start running for Offices in Nigeria and winning elections. They don't need any Nigerian blood in them as long as they can do the job.

I believe it is high time we begin to open up our political space for foreigners who have acquired the Nigerian citizenship through birth or marriage to participate in our national politics. It is apparent that ethnicity has been an hindrance to our national growth and development, however the involvement of people of other nationality will certainly create the window for innovative ideas that will turn around the socio economic fortunes of our dear nation.

Inarguably, the Nigerian manufacturing and extractive sector is largely dominated by Indians and Chinese who act as big players in the industry. Similarly, it is an established fact that the team of most manufacturing companies owned by Nigerians are equally dominated by foreigners. Unfortunately, it never deemed appropriate for state governors to appoint these foreign technocrats into their cabinet as Commissioner for commerce and industries rather such public offices are offered to charlatans who recommended by some perceived godfathers. The future of Nigeria can only be transformed until the political space is open up for innovative and creative ideas.

The unfortunate reason why we are stuck with tribal politics in Nigeria is deeply rooted on the premise that our political elite knows fully well that their political aspirations cannot survive in an environment where politics is driven by innovative idealogy, so it becomes necessary for them to saturate our political space with all manners of criminality in other to shut the window of opportunities from those who posses innovative ideas to around the fortune of our dear nation.

Hmmm , so why are they called Nigerians? They are Nigerians who became British by living there for long or being born in Britain by Nigerian parents.

So my question is, how many British become Nigerians by living in Nigeria for long or by being born in Nigeria by British parents.

Not to talk of running for office.

This is exactly the point I've been preaching for years. Nigeria will only develop when we start adopting best practices used in developed countries. Get best of brains from across the world irrespective of country, origin, or race. US, UK, and some other developed countries allow nationalised immigrants to aspire any political office so far you can deliver. But alas, Nigeria is still stucked with tribal and religious sentiments that only brings about retrogression.
