It didn't start out this way. Most are usually hailed when they assume office but once they start misbehaving, as is the case more often than not, then opinion will surely shift.

Political leaders are employees of the followers and as such deserve to be scrutinized so don't blame the employer(masses) who seeks to explore the greatest room (room for improvement).

Plus our current structure places over 52% of money under the arm of govt the president directly heads. Commonsense dictates that 52% of our resources gets priority over the remaining 48% which is split between 36 states and about 774 LGAs.
