That's what I am talking about. Simply come out and ask how much are youth Corp nurses paid, instead of using other peoples grade as bench mark.

If the OP had come out with the Question of Nurses pay I don't think people would contribute Much. We can't Ignore the Influence Medicine Has since Most of their things are Defined and they have More People in the profession Already. Others are Still Coming up.

Laws of demand and supply.
There is a severe shortage of doctors in Nigeria unlike the oversupply of Engineering graduates.

Lol, don't high ur hopes bro. Nysc pays every corper the same #19,800, whether you be medical doctor or native doctor.
However, some of the states that pay corpers pay Drs higher, example Delta state pays corper Drs 82k/month. Ur PPA can also pay u some money.
NB- don't make the mistake of serving in Benue state. I did and dat has been the greatest mistake I've made in my five years of medical practice

About Benue..Why Doc?

It depends on your PPA... Some states pay 100k while other is 70-80k

Just like have been said every Corp member receives N19800 now{subject to commencement of 30k minimum wage}. The difference is with the state government and PPA. In 2006/2007 when I served in Rivers State, the state government paid doctors 60k while my place of primary assignment which was a Catholic hospital paid me 80k. I also covered a private hospital where I was paid per hour. So monthly total was between 150k to 200k. This was in 2006. Should be much better now.

It depends on the region. Corpse doctors in the North receive higher than their counterparts in the west.
Where I served, the breakdown is as follows:
FG alawe = 19,800
PPA alawe = 10,000 (every corper in the PPA)
Call duty alawe = 60,000
The call duty allowance varies for different medical courses, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, MLS, nursing, Physiotherapy, radiography etc...

Dey don't pay a dime. I was posted to one of d LGAs as their medical officer, dey no pay me. I kept chasing d chairman around and he kept making empty promises till my service yr was over.
If u can, get an exemption letter and do something more worthwhile with ur life. NYSC doesn't add any value to ur life as a Dr.
