This same JAMB registrar, Ishaq Oloyede 'addressed' this issue in the news and claimed ABU had exhausted the slot for merit in Niger State.

He clearly defended the institution and claimed they were within their rights. How come he is now ordering them to admit her?

If anyone knows the young girl or her family members on her, kindly ask her to to reject the offer. She might be victimized and frustrated all through her stay in that school.

If indeed Anatomy is not widely subscribed to by students, why can't the department be scrapped and the money used running it further invested in the college of medicine to give more spaces for prospective student?

Abi since everyone wants medicine and not Anatomy, why run an Anatomy department and admit bitter students who have missed MBBS by a mark or two.

Anatomy has its relevance and many are not well informed to know that. You can't say because more people want engineering, then zoology, having a low number of prospective students, should be scrapped. Doesn't make sense.

I wouldn’t advice her to go that school (ABU ) anymore .. she will be the most scrutinized student of that department... if she doesn’t fit her ‘i’ in and cross her ‘t’ in an examination she will be penalized .

I said it earlier that young people who have the desire to go for medicine should be encouraged as we are currently in dearth of their supply and service. This is therefore a good development, but she needs to up her game to justify her inclusion as her seeming lack of resolve for quickly settling for Anatomy may further impact on her future importance.

Try this in some other higher institutions in Nigeria, (like the one we went to) and see if no be you go carry yourself comot for school after 100 level result is out.

I read all the responses to your submission & it's obvious, all didn't bother to read the news item, read it but couldn't comprehend or read & decided just to remain in ignorance.

From the report & evidences allegedly tabled before the JAMB boss, the lady in question wasn't denied admission to study medicine based on "quota" as some have claimed but merit; that much was confirmed by Prof. Oloyede who said A.B.U gave admission to the best two candidates to study the course based on merit.

From Niger, based on the average scores, the lady came third (by JAMB score, she obviously is the highest from her state but when the Post-UTME scores are factored in, she is third).

If you were preparing for UTME when you read this, why won't you be more serious with your preparation now? This is why I was ranting about meritocracy that time. We shouldn't let intelligent and hardworking individuals suffer because of principles that has not favoured us as a nation.

But ABU was fair. Her Average score was third. ABU picked two per State. Why would the School pick three from Niger State alone, leaving other states in the Federation with two each? Is that not discrimination?

What about other candidates in other states that have average scores higher than her but were not the best two candidates in their states?
