If only our democracy started with a great, honest and pious man like President Muhammadu Buhari back in 1999.
Unfortunately it started with looters, criminals, rapists and fraudulent characters.
We thank God for his faithfulness.

Buhari is the part of the problem. He's not a saint and will never be.

Immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan has said that his administration did not plug all loopholes in its bid to end corruption in the country.

The former President, however, said it was wrong to assume that the economy would have been in a worse shape if he was not kicked out of power in 2015.

Jonathan spoke at the Eagles Square, Abuja on Saturday during the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, non- elective national convention.

He was flanked by his former deputy, Namadi Sambo, some serving and former governors, and chieftains of the party.

Jonathan also pointed at the 2012 flood in the country as a major set back to his government.

According to him, “Though we didn’t completely plug the loopholes in the fight against corruption, but we did well.

“I learnt that some people said that if the PDP had remained in power beyond 2015, the economy would have been worse. This couldn’t have been the case, because we had a sound economic team in place.

“Let us not forget that the great floods of 2012 were a major calamity that damaged homes and farmlands on the plains of River Niger and Benue.

“But despite the devastating effects of this natural disaster, there were no food shortages or arbitrary increase in prices, because of what we were able to accomplish with our agriculture transformation agenda, which considerably boosted food production.

“If we say that we rekindled hope in our people and regained international goodwill, it is because we pursued a number of policies and programmes that were not only richly rewarding for our people, but were also being copied by many countries across the globe, a few of which I will mention here.”

Oga JONATHAN brain is getting reset at least for now.

He is now waking up to the realities that his close to 6 years tenure as President was FATHER CHRISTMAS for LOOTERS.

He actually promoted TAKE AS YOU LIKE while he turned his face the other way.

It is a widely held view that those who did not loot money during Jonathan administration will never see such a big money in the rest of their life.

He is now seeing that the PLENTY OF CRUDE OIL is no longer plenty as usual.

He never made economic forcast or predict the future.

His native Bayelsa state, he could not complete the East West Road and so many projects in the Niger delta region.

He was a very weak leader cum economic failure.

Jonathan promoted TAKE AS YOU LIKE as a national philosophy which means steal as you like.

If our presidency started with Buhari, I doubt we would have liberalized the telecom sector. You won't even have this device to type this reply. He would sleep on it and keep talking about corruption while the free market opportunity will waste We have come a long way. Seeing Buhari's style now, I am happy he came after we had advanced quite a bit. His tribal approach would have retrogressed the country. But who knows, we can't go back onto the past to test this theory. Let's just say God ordained the order of presidents for his purpose and plan which I believe is for good. Buhari's tenure has a purpose too.

You are talking nyanya mpu. Mention another government since 1999 that has leveraged on the application of information technology more than buhari. Even the ones the previous governments initiated, they either kill it by themselves or they render it impotent. It was buhari that enforced IPPIS, BVN, TSA, efficiency unit and many more. Whereas the same people who benefited from the then weak system with their so much claim of being educated like ASUU, are the ones against it.

I believe no matter how the loopholes would have been after 2015 it won't have been worst as these because at least their would be freedom of speech and the government would give listening ears and not these General Buhari regime we found ourselves.

Has anyone taken your freedom of speech away? Many of you believe that libel and slander are part of your freedom.
God loves this country and that was why he helped us remove this man from power. Dummy didn't know anything about governance, everyone in his government was just taking advantage of his cluelessness to syphon public fund.

Honest assessment. Anyone without fault should cast the first stone.
This is what is lacking in Nigeria today when people that casted aspersions on the then govt cannot perform as much in actual sense.

PDP established EFCC and ICPC but made them toothless dogs that could only bark but couldn't bite. What was even the budget for EFCC and ICPC under Jonathan? He literally starved them of fund to do any meaningful job. You wouldn't know that, of course.

Firstly, this assessment is preposterous. It doesn't serve any purpose.
Secondly, did he plug any hole when he was there because he's talking about not completely plugging it? Rather, he created many holes and gave looters free access to national wealth.

Yes, we have EFCC prosecuting financial criminals in many states today. The same EFCC we had almost forgotten about. Even the already forgotten ICPC is going after abandoned or diverted constituency projects today.
Not the level we would have preferred but far better than what it was used to be.

Mumu Jonathan. If he had tried to be a real President, Buhari would have been dead and forgotten by now. But he was an utter disgrace. Like Soyinka said, he was held captive in Aso rock not knowing what to do while nonetities ran govt.

Gej keeps giving ipob miscreants reasons to turn against him. First was the Bayelsa election and now, this.

Instead of saying he fought corruption tooth and nail even without proof so ipob can start falling over themselves sucking his balls, he is saying something else.

Perhaps gej has realised whoever those miscreants support always fail.

I assumed that GEJ is no longer with PDP especially considering his, and his wife's, stunts during the Bayelsa gubernatorial election.

He and other expired leaders of the failed PDP left the party decimated and bloodied in the struggle against the dark forces of APC. They left the party leaderless and with no vision or purpose. Tell me who leads PDP today and I will identify them as charlatans, selfish, untactical and purposeless persons.

Unfortunately, the evil APC has taken over government, impoverished the people, relegated merit and competence in preference of Nepotism, Partisanship, Ineptitude and NorthernHausaFulaniCracy leadership. The nation is badly damaged by the current deceit, disingenuous, sectionalised and corrupt personality packaged as Mr integrity. To think that the evil APC was able to deceive the electorates and Nigerians initially and subsequently rob Nigerians of their power to elect in daylight emphasises the failure of the PDP and particularly Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

GEJ had every opportunity to be the best president Nigeria ever had but his carefree, unintelligent, drunken and clumsy nature allowed his thieving cabal and associates to fool him, destroy the nation and steal the nation's resources dry. Little wonder he said stealing isn't corruption in public. Anyway, I don't want to dwell on the recruitment eror, failure and scandal called GEJ.

God will punish all the deceptive and failed leaders of Nigeria that started, perpetuated and sustain the underdevelopment, backslide and decline of the Nigerian nation, especially the evil APC leaders that reduced Nigeria to this shame.
